I made a little trip up to Rhindelander today. I don’t know if its the people or the air or what ever. All the coordinates were right on. None were over 5ft off. Also the caches had some of the cleanest containersĀ best swag I’ve seen. I only did about 10 caches today.Ā I don’t knowĀ if the rest of them are like that but I sure hope so. I got something to shoot for when I begin placing caches.

We’ve found caching to be way enjoyable up north. Not piles of caches, but all of them worth our time.

No gadget caches but did hit his Travel Bug hotel. Had to be 20 plus guests.

Honestly, I’ve only ever has one Rhinelander cache with coords that were off.Ā  It had me looking for a micro in a rock pile by a city garage.Ā  One previous finder said the city would definitely keep GZ clear in the winter.Ā  I neglected to think to look on the fire hydrant that trip, and was looking for over half an hour in the rock pile that day.

I have been eyeing up his caches as well, and I may have to make a run up there soon. Unfortunately, a post by BigJim in an unrelated thread was a bit alarming to me. It reads as follows:

Funny you should bring this up. I got an e-mail this morningĀ  from a cacher in Rhinelander with over 200 active caches. He said, ā€œI don’t like the direction GC.com is going and I’m pretty much done caching!ā€

I’m not sure what he meant by that statement, but I think that his issue is more with the direction that the game is heading, and not with Groundspeak of GC.com specifically. With many of his caches having lots of favorite points, I’m sure that easy-chair logging is part of the problem. He went on to tell me that he is planning to archive all of his caches ā€œbefore long.ā€ That’s a lot of lights going off in the Rhinelander area!

Unfortunately, I think this is WCD. I sure hope all of these great caches don’t suddenly disappear!

WCD recently archived a series of 8 caches.

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

I guess I’d better get to Rhinelander soon!

IĀ had free time today so went up to Rhinelander again. I wanted to do a couple of woodcarverdan’s gadget caches. 1st one I finally figured it out. Felt like a genius. Next one made me feel like a moron. Didn’t get it. Next one I’m a genius again. Even his regular hides are pretty good.

Everyone do yourself a favor and get to Rhinelander and try these caches. Well worth the trip.

Someone said he is archiving some of his caches. Well he has well over 200 caches that are his. I can see scaling back a bit.
