Ok fine! I need help. I went out to this one once again and could not find the starter cache. I found the old tent and the ornge cone. I climbed the tree and looked in the bird nest. I lost about a pint of blood to the mosquitoes. I still am having no luck. I think I am beyond the point for clues. I need help. If anyone is headed up this way for this one I would like to team up and go for it. Any takers?

#2 … I will email you to see if I can provide more assistance. (But sorry, not available to seek the cache with you, which I’ve found already).

06/30/2005 at 4:07 am #1740688While passing through Sheboygan this evening I decided to check to see if waypoint one is still there. The first time I found it was over a year ago during the day. This time everyhting had grown a years worth and I was looking at night. It all looked different, BUT
I found it. It’s there. I can’t really say if the coordinates are off at all (I don’t think so…) as my batteries died just as I got to ground zero.
Keep looking! Good Luck!

Co-conspirator to make the world a better place…06/30/2005 at 1:48 pm #1740689How can everyone else find this starting cache but me? I just don’t understand this. It must be right under my nose but I can’t see it.
06/30/2005 at 3:36 pm #1740690JR, don’t beat yourself up.
It happens. While we did find it first time out, I almost gave up and then one of my kids found it … my 13 year old who no longer wants to hold the GPSr … she just asks how close we are, when I say 150′, she runs ahead and tries to find the spot without the GPSr, shes good! It’s in one of those places where it’s kind of an uncomfortable place to be, which are usually the ones that are harder to find, especially during the the prickley, hot, sticky, buggy time of the year that it is now.
06/30/2005 at 4:00 pm #1740691I couldn’t find it either. I’ll take hints too incase I’m ever up in the area again
06/30/2005 at 5:17 pm #1740692I would not say that it is getting me down. I would say that it is more of a sence of fustration. I will be out this weekend looking for it so check back on the 5th to see what happened. I will find it sooner or later.
07/01/2005 at 5:52 am #1740693I had a heck of a time with this one last year. Ended up going back to hotel which provided a computer that let me check previous logs. That helped somewhat. I remember there were numbers spray painted on a tree. I spent much time trying to decipher those numbers before I realized that werent it.
I know I’m not helping, but I know how you feel. Good luck.07/02/2005 at 4:37 am #1740694Well with the cooler weather today I got the first stage done. I found that little bugger a good ways away from where I thought it should be. But the corordinates were right. Just goes to show you that you can out think yourself sometimes.
