The 16th Annual Pumpkin Walk/Haunted Hayride will be held at the park this Saturday, October 18, 2008, from 3:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. Lighted pumpkins line the park road at dusk. Kids activities and nature talk early, scary hayride ($3) after dark. Shuttle buses provided from winter parking area and from intersection of Highway 13 and Czech Avenue, as needed. Food available.
Entrance fees waived for the day. Come cache during the day and stay for the fun!
This event is put on by the Friends of RAC SP, and it has something for everyone. The park usually closes the main entrance for the winter a few days after this event, although it is a week earlier than usual. Most caches in the park will require a longer hike from the winter parking area, so why not get them in now? (Sorry, campground is closed. Besides, that’s where the ghosties and ghoulies will be haunting the hayrides!)
