For those going to Rock Island next month, the ghost hunt will be in the cemetery next to the campground. I plan on making it as legitimate as possible (as far as these things go) similar to what you might see on “Ghost Hunters” on the Sc-Fi channel: lots of goodies, including:
1. Infrared camcorder (visual record, even in the dark)
2. non-contact digital thermometer/thermocouple device (measure ambient temperature and temperature drops)
3. Portable tape recorder (record Electronic Voice Phenomena)
4. EMF Meter (record disruptions in the electromagnetic field of a location)
5. Old-fashioned magnetic compass (reacts to abrupt changes in the local magnetic field)
Basically, I want to set everything up, start recording, and wait for something to happen. regular observations of ambient temperatures and anomalies will be logged. starting around 11:00 pm, observe for maybe 2-3 hours, depending on power requirements of electronic devices. This will be a high-tech observation, not an attempt at communication through weird seances or Ouija boards.
