It’s back, entering its fifth year. Mark your calendars for June 19-21.

According to TS, this is the second longest running annual geo-campout (second to the WGA annual geo-campout)

The least attended (that’s not a bad thing, everyone gets to know one another)

The most universally acclaimed by participants (nobody has ever reported having a bad time)

The best selection of beer, cheese, and sausage (it’s in Wisconsin)

I have posted video from the 2006 Getaway canoe incident on my facebook page. (Working on posting it to youtube)

Notice the expressions on the kids’ faces as “Really, I’m Not Lost” sputters away from the dock, and how low the canoe sits in the water…

    Post questions/comments here.

    AALLLLLL RIIIGGGHHHHHTTTTTTTTT!!

We are so there! Already marked on the calendar and requests off from work put in. (well, OK, that’ll be tomorrow).

We are so not excited. Nope, not one bit!

Are we getting a group site again?

    #1901377

Yes, we are at the same group site as last year, GS-II.

I did try to reserve the other group site, GS-I, but it was already taken. Individual sites are also plentiful, but nobody’s ever complained about staying at the group sites. They’re wooded, secluded, and just right. The link to the video on youtube is:

the plan is for at least one to attend, still would like to get more of the family there, but that may prove to be impossible. Since i have been to every one so far it would be a shame to miss one now.

    definately group camp.

will there be anything interesting to fix or take apart? 🙄

    #1901379

Yep, I will be there. Group site as well. Hmmm. Things to take apart, or Fix. That gives me a couple of Ideas………. Don’t worry Dan, You’ll Like em….. How about a coconut, and Lemon Powered GPS.. That would be kinda neat…….

I would amagine, we can get some carpooling going on again to head up there! I will also be putting in my request from work tommorrow.

    Looking forward to it.

Now, what to Bring for Saturday Night…… Decisions, Decisions…

I wonder if TS is going to bring some Homebrew Stuff?

Nothing that I can think of. The GPS from last still works great and always points to the cache

I think we need to construct some interesting cache containers before then 😈

Well, I was planning on attending, but seeing as though Bec is as well……….

    Just kidding Bec!!!!

I wouldn’t miss this for anything….. Well, Unless I break too many body parts.. Then I would have to be airlifted in…

Eagle III has to have some use!!!

    #1901384

    No Eagle III…no broken bones…please!

Well, we’ll be at the group site as well.

Bec, you’re welcome to crash at our house so you don’t have to make the long drive in one shot!

Kat, I was just kidding about the Broken Bones… Sorry to hear of your Accident…. So glad to hear that you are OK… Scary….

Several weeks ago I reserved a lakeside campsite on Rock Island for this same weekend, so I’ll plan to paddle over and say “hi” again this year.

We’re making our plans as well. We’ll stay in the group site.

Our eTrex is still working after the clinic last year. No more need for medical attention.

Now, all we need is to find a friend with a boat to make the trip a little shorter, but no canoes!
