Rules of Geocaching?

I have decided that if I were to write the rules to geocaching, the following would be included:

1 – If the number of ticks on your body equals the difficulty of the cache – ITS A FIND and you can go home.

2- If you have to turn over more then 100 rocks in a pile to find a micro – ITS A FIND after number 100 (some of you might know what cache I am referring to ).

3- If you search an area completely and do not find the cache and when checking the coordinates you discover that the N42 35.111 was suppose to be N42 36.111 and you went the wrong direction – you report to the nearest tavern and do it again tomorrow.

4- If there are any dead animals within the area of the cache – ITS A FIND and no need to worry about lice and fleas.

5- If people who look like they belong in Deliverance are watching you in the woods – ITS A FIND and report back to your car immediately.

6- If you go to a new multi-cache site and one of the legs is missing to the multi – ITS A FIND

I edited my rules a bit and am sure I will come up with more .

How about if the cache is alongside a river and is below the water because of flooding, it’s a find. Had this happen last week in Eau Claire.

The rocks weren’t by chance in reference to Chief O’Brien II, was it???

No Steve – Chief O’Brien II is still on my current list of ones to visit – can’t wait now .

And as for Miata, not that one either . Any other guesses?

Obviously my message was meant to be of a fun nature – I have only found one cache I have not enjoyed is some way and that one was in Freeport Illinois. Even the ones I have not found yet and recorded no finds had huge redeeming qualities. It will always be the hunt that rewards us.

I understand the spirit of the topic! The day after that Eau Claire ”washout”, I did one in Wausau. Picked four ticks off of my arm and after gassing up the van, found a tick crawling across the seat! Already had to pull one from Kanook after doing a cache in the Kettle Moraine near my house. Darned things!
