I wanted to give a couple shout outs to Run N Search here.

First, they got find #5100 at the WGA Campout at High Cliff. Congratulations, guys. Too bad you just missed the group picture.

Second, a great big thank you to Run N Search for giving me a lift to the campground where I parked my car. I had planned to get a couple caches near the campground then go back to my car to go elsewhere in the park. But it didn’t work out that way 🙂 Every time I found a cache, my GPS would show another one nearby so I would go, “Ok, let’s get one more then go back.” Well, I kept getting that “one more” and before I knew it, I was about 3/5 of a mile from my car as the crow flies and most likely double that via hiking as there was no path in the direction of my car just yet. My car was to the north, but at that moment, the only path I was on headed west. I knew a northbound path is still quite a ways yet.

I had just found the Frog cache at the southeast side of High Cliff and was prepared to make the approximate mile walk back to the campground to get my car when the male half of Run N Search, who was parked right there, offered me a lift back to the campground since they were staying there anyways. So I accepted the ride.

Much thanks to Run N Search for the ride back to the campground so I could get my car as my legs felt like rubber after hiking all day long and I was happy for the break. 🙂 Nice meeting you two.

Congrats Rich & Sue on #5,100.  Not bad for a Connecticut couple!

Hey, didn’t you just get 5000?  You work fast!  Way to go, Rich and Sue!

Thanks for the shout out Todd.  Caching is not always about finding the container.  Many times it is about the connections you make and the socialization.

When we saw Todd way at the southern end of the park, we said, “Hey, didn’t we see him near the campground earlier?”.  When we stopped to chat, we found that he had indeed walked the entire distance , one cache at a time.  It was near the end of the day and everyone looked a bit weary.  Glad we could be of service to a fellow cacher.

        Pay it forward.

        Regards,

        RNS
