Very sad indeed. Just goes to show that you really do need to pay attention in this sport. I went digging for more info on this story, and found absolutely nothing, not even on the Washington State Geocaching Association’s forums. Nothing there even.

There is a lot of info on this. I saw it on the national forums and the Washington State forums. There is a link on the national forums. The cache was immediatly archieved and local cachers are being very sensitive to the cachers family in the tragedy and the cacher that hid the cache. As cache owners we can’t imagine how this would affect us in the sport. A true wake-up call.

Very tragic. My heart goes out to the family. I can’t imagine being there when it happened.
And that’s an interesting slant for the hider. I had never even given that a thought. That’s the sad thing about the situation, nobody comes out unscathed, even us as a community.
