Congratulations Pat and Mark! Persistence is the key and it paid off for you in the form of 1K. I’m glad to be able to have met you guys, cached with you a little, and relied on you to cover my oversights while I’m on vacation! 😳 Here’s to many more!

Hurrah! Welcome to the club! Wish I would have known you were so close. Not that I would have dropped what I was doing to bring you a winning lottery ticket, but I could have at least stopped to say Hi. 😉

    Congrats again.

Congrats on your 1K milestone. Welcome to the club. 😀

    Congrats Sandlanders!
You picked a great cache for your milestone. I am a member of the sunflower club but my little midgets are nothing like Sagasu’s.

Awesome – Does this mean the next step is “SSSS near the W”? 😆

What a great “themed” cache for your teams 1K. I would have offered to buy the celebratory custard at the local establishment had I known. Put me down for an IOU on that next time your in the land of Sellzup.

Well, we picked up today’s mail, and we have come to believe that it’s all a myth… the Klub Key is NOT in the mail! 👿 Maaaan, that’s the only reason we went for 1000! 😉 We suppose we won’t get those jackets at 2000 either. 🙄

But as far as that club thing goes… It’s not how many you find or how fast you find them. There are no special clubs or rewards for reaching certain milestones. We’ve always said that milestones are what you make of them, and we feel no different sitting at 1000+ than we did at 999, or at 738, or at 420, or at 119, or at 63, or at 27, or at 1, or at whatever. To us, numbers are how one keeps track of all the wonderful experiences in geocaching, and we’ve had quite a few now. Some are more special than others, and we certainly want to thank Sagasu and Labrat for our co-1000 cache finds, but we also want to thank those of you who have placed all of the other caches we have found and looked for. We want to thank all of you for your encouragement and for your well-wishes, and for your congratulatory notes here and to us personally.

And a special shoutout to all my peeps in the thread stealers’ thread! YO!

We did not become a member of any special club on August 2, 2010. We became a member of a club on October 17, 2007, when our receiver came in the mail (that item DID come), and we quickly loaded up a couple of caches before heading out to Roche-A-Cri State Park. Yes, we planned for #1 just like we did for #1000. It was (and still is) Lil Otter’s Roche-A-Cri #3 (GC6C11), and while our logs weren’t as lengthy back then, words could never express what we felt when we got close to that cache, the distance getting smaller, the hiding places looking good up ahead, and the “Yes! Yes! Yes!” and pumping of fists when the plastic container in the woods was spotted. This is real! It DOES work! This is soooooooo much fun! Let’s go find another!

And that is how you become a member of the best club there could ever be in geocaching.
