If you haven’t looked, there is soon going to be an event in Eau Claire. It will be on June 18th 6pm-11pm at the Rod and Gun Park. I have been working with Star Beam on some things for this event. One thing that will be done with the event is a geocaching poker run. I will be having 50 caches released this week (thanks in large part to our great reviewers, Tie in particular has been very helpful). The caches are not part of the event, but in honor of Zuma’s birthday. They consist of 7 sets of 7 caches and 1 ultra mystery cache. Each set of 7 is confined to an Eau Claire area park and consists of 6 regular caches and 1 mystery cache (you get clues from the other 6 to find the mystery cache). You should be able to complete a set in 2 hours or less – in most cases. If you find all 7 mystery caches you will have the clues to find the ultra mystery cache #50. How this is related to the geocaching poker run is that in each mystery cache there are cards sealed in envelopes. You collect a card at each mystery cache and bring it to the event. The players with the best hands will receive a prize. I will also be setting up some temporary just for kids caches, and 7 regular caches in the Rod and Gun Park. We also will be having door prizes (including some unactivated geocoins).
Speaking of coins, if you find a HBZ (Happy Birthday Zuma) cache I have placed a voucher for one of the personal coins I am being have made for him in each cache. The plan was to have them done in time to place in the caches, but since they’re not if you get a voucher from a cache e-mail me and I will get you the coin once I receive them. They are trackable with their own icon on geocaching.com.
Also, if you haven’t found all the Chippewa Valley Event Caches they will still be able to be found that weekend. Hope to see many of you this weekend! – Robin

It took us 2.5 hours but one of us is very short and only 3 years old, so… This was well done and a lot of work. We just had time to go for one of the tower ridge ones yesterday before the rain. A LOT OF WORK and a fantastic gift.
