The event page will have all the info on it, plus we will send out email updates to those registered. Here are the basics.

    Friday:
    – Arrive/register after 3PM. Register at the group campsites upon your arrival. If camping on the group sites, you can set up your tent after you sign in.

    Friday night:
-We typically hold a geocaching game. This allows people to geocache at their leisure while people are arriving.
    -Evening camp fire(s)

    Saturday Morning:
-Arrive at the shelter at the scheduled time (8:00 or 9:00 AM, yet to be determined).
-Register and get your handouts and GPS uploads.
-Socialize, drink coffee, hit the trails, look for temp caches.

    Saturday afternoon:
    – Grills are hot and ready by 11:30-12:00. Those wishing to come back and picnic can come cook their lunch and head back out on the trails.
    – 5:00 PM. Geocaching event concludes. Everyone returns to the shelter/picnic area for the group photo, and end of day meeting. Meeting will probably be held at the ampitheater next to the picnic area.

    Saturday night:
    – Night caching begins at dusk. Usually around 8:45 ish?. Special night caches are placed and can be hunted until 11:00 PM.
    – 11:00 PM, registered campers must be back at their camp sites (DNR rules). Those who are not camping must leave the park by 11:00 PM.

    Sunday Morning:
    – Pancake breakfast fund raiser. The WGA will cook pancakes, sausages, and provide drinks for a small donation. Location of the pancake breakfast is yet to be determined.
    – Geocache retrieval. We need volunteers to help recover ALL of the temp caches. This is the chance for people to find caches they missed on Saturday. All geocaches must be removed by the end of the day. Cache retrieval is coordinated and caches are assigned to the volunteers. We keep organize records of which caches are being retrieved and by whom.
    -Check out by 3:00 PM.

sounds like a lot of fun. Except for the camping part! Did I hear someone talk about a beer run?

For those that don’t like the “real” camping of a campout, remember there is always Trudy camping (also known as hotel-camping). As has happened in years past, some cachers local to the area can provide a list of a variety of Trudy-campsites that are nearby for use.

You can say that again. πŸ˜†

    For sure – for sure.

The WGA has rented the shelter, reserved two group camp sites, and secured permission from the Park Manager.

We are locked and loaded πŸ™‚

Weather permitting, there will likely be a bonfire both Friday and Saturday nights at one of the group camp sites.
