First off I would like to thank whoever nominated me and seconded it.
My name is Kevin I am from ScrappyScout, I am Scout and my wife is Scrappy. I am an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and proud of it. I am also a Geocaching merit badge counselor and still work with the Boy Scouts. My wife and I have been caching since April of 2006. We first learned about caching from Fox 6 Vince Condella. I did a lot of searching and found information on it and it seemed like it would be fun. So then I started to look into buying a GPS and within a week we had bought one. We headed out to find our first cache along with so many of the Fox 6 caches this one was never posted on Geocaching.com. We did about 12 of the Fox 6 caches and then we went out and did our first GC.com cache and I still remember to this day about how my wife started yelling found it found it. Funny part is it was near a golf course and people were looking to see what /who was yelling. We still get a good laugh about that one. We might not have a lot of finds but we are big activists about geo caching. I have introduced caching to people in my diet group and I think I might have gotten a few new people into this craze we call geocaching.
I used to work for the DNR and I am still in contact with people in the DNR and I am currently working with the superintendant of Pike Lake State Park on hosting 101 classes there and working with him on refining their geocaches and setting up other things there. I am a member of the Community Education committee and the Membership committee. I worked with others in coming up with the new COTM and SOTM programs. I was also working with others on the bi-monthly newsletter to try to make a change with that.
I think the WGA has a great group of people. I have met a lot of nice people and have made some best friends in the process.
Feel free to ask me any question you have here or in a PM. I too appreciate your vots and look forward to helping make the WGA the best it can be.
