    It seems that a few local folks have managed to stumble upon the secret geocaching forums I have set up on my website and have created accounts, only to discover the strange chit chat from some friends of mine who are fellow refugees from the angst over at the main Groundspeak forums.

    In order to encourage a little local chat, I have set up a separate SE Wisconsin Forum for Racine and Kenosha (and surrounding area) cachers to chat about local things.

    For those of you who have already created accounts (and I know who you are… 😛 ) Stop by and see the new changes!

    Thanks Dave! Sorry my first post was so… Well you know. But he did ask for it! I like to give the people what they want you know. 😉

    Thanks Dave,
    Nice to talk to folks close to home.

    Good idea, Dave. I’ll check it out, too.

    If there is interest, we could also create region specific forums on the WGA website (assuming the Board also approves ;)). Does anyone this is needed or would be a good idea?

    I guess most things we discuss in the forums are universal to the entire state, but maybe there is some value to having regional forums… it could be a place where people could ask for local/in-person help with problems, and where regional events or local geocaching outings could be planned.

    Would be nice to have a [b}RRRWUNWisconsin Forum[/b}

    aka Really Really Really Way Up North Wisconsin Forum LOL can cover all those desolate caches, give bear watches, etc

    It’s a great idea and something Digital Dan and & were just discussing the other nite!

    I read the GONIL forums as well, and while much of the Chicagoland discussions are in their main forum, they have a separate forum for each county in the Chicago area.

    Deciding how to divide up the state would be some interesting discussions… 😆

    Thanks again Dave for setting this up!

    How much are the bear watches going to be?
    Are they self winding?

    — the bear watches will be black and furry. But they won’t run during the winter months!

    As far as regional discussion groups, that sounds interesting. Obviously, the peole down in the south deal with different issues than those who are way ‘up nort’. Those who hunt caches in urban Milwaukee area are different from those facing the people in rural farm areas, etc. etc. etc.

    Overall, sounds like a good idea!
