Not quite sure which of the recent flurry of caches marked his 200th hide, but seldom|seen did just reach that milestone. The number is particularly noteworthy when you consider the time and effort (not to mention expense) that is evident in putting those caches together, whether it’s intricate puzzles that literally span the globe or cache containers that are truly one of a kind. Thanks for giving so much back to the geo-community.
On the Left Side of the Road...05/10/2009 at 12:08 am #1907604Again, I know s|s is not so intrigued with numbers and milestones but not many out there have hidden 200 caches so a big congrats Alex :))))
Also, what’s most admirable is that Alex has hidden 1 cache for every 4 he’s found (roughly).
I’ve tried hard to keep a 1:10 ratio. 1:4 is crazy talk man.. well he is a crazy man..
See you at the event. I was going to say something bad sounding about grabbing a stick but I will leave that off. That’s what found-it logs are for..
05/10/2009 at 12:20 am #1907605Congratulations. I can appreciate what an accomplishment that is. I’m one away from 100 hides and I already know that the next 100 will be even harder to come by. After that many hides you set your standard higher and look for more meaning in placing one. It seems that no matter where your from that it is also getting increasingly harder to find interesting and appropriate places for hides. We’re looking forward to trying your new ones at the campout next weekend.
05/10/2009 at 1:18 am #1907606Way to go, s/s! I always do stretching exercises and “googles” before trying your hides. An s/s find is a feather in our caps! Keep up the good research. But give us a traditional now and then, just for variety! 😆
05/10/2009 at 1:32 am #1907607And those 200 hides aren’t a bunch of guardrails and skirt lifters. Each is unique, and though many are seldom|found, they are all worth a look. Congrats on the 200 hides, Alex, with grateful thanks from the caching community.
05/10/2009 at 2:41 am #1907608Congrats, Alex, and many, many thanks, a bit short of 200 I fear. You have singlehandedly gotten me used to puzzle caches, and even enjoy most of them. But, how about a traditional now and then, or a few more user web pages, at least in the summer when we’d like to leave the house once in a while. 🙂
05/10/2009 at 2:59 am #1907609I’m not certain if I should say ‘Thanks’, because so many of the puzzles drive me crazy.

As the King himself might sayeth:
“Thou need not seeketh every cache in mine kingdom.”

No but he has one in a guardrail next to a bunch of skirt lifters! 😈
I happened to chatting with alex as 200 and 201 hit the inbox today, its very apparent that his mistress is the hide and not the find, I would not be surprised if in time that ratio became a 1:1. I personally hope not…
Congrats alex!
05/10/2009 at 12:20 pm #1907612WTG s|s. Some day I’ll make it up that way. Seems every time I look at making a road trip, something else comes up.
05/10/2009 at 12:36 pm #1907613That is quite an achievement seldom|seen! You have definitely gone above and beyond making use of every possible nook and cranny around town. Just when I think there could not be room for another one, somehow they keep popping up! Thanks for all you do! Remember, pace yourself!

Ditto here. Way to go, s/s!
While we are not into those kind of numbers with only 20 hides ourselves, we can note that for “Finds By Owner” for us we have found 52 of yours them or 3.88 percent. Which puts you in the top 5.
And, at this rate it will take us about another five years (or more) to get another 50 of them.
Thanks for the hides!
SGH & BB
05/11/2009 at 1:44 pm #1907615Congrats S/S!
05/11/2009 at 7:00 pm #1907616Way to go, Alex. Along with everyone else, we’ve enjoyed and at times torn out our hair to find some of your hides. Since we recently did the one that marked your 100th, and are working on solving the one for your 50th, I’m curious……what did you do for this landmark?
Or do we even want to know, LOL?
Again, thanks for giving back to the community in so many ways.
05/11/2009 at 7:39 pm #1907617Geocaching for $1000 Alex.
“obtuse, obscure, outrageous”
“what are S|S puzzle hides”Correct!
thanks Alex for all the brain twisting, researching and physically challenging caches. I’m sure there will be more 😀

if the question is What was your 50Th hide:
I believe that would be NIFTY FIFTY GC1187E
I was getting close to what I thought was a pretty good milestone for me, 50 cache hides, and figured it was about time to put out a 5/5 to mark the occasion.
