I’m just so excited about this, and don’t really have anywhere else to share it. A few weeks back, the folks at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve put out a request for bird photos for a new website project they’re doing. I’ve worked with the director to get a couple EarthCaches placed there and felt like it would be a great way to repay her for her assistance.
Well, they are going to be using four of my bird photos, with photo credit given. Bird photography is really challenging and there are many incredible bird photographers in the state. I know many of them will be sharing photos, too. It’s such an honor to be placed among those folks!
(We did hit 3500 caches on Sunday, too! LOL That would be caching related.)
Thanks for letting me brag a little.

02/06/2009 at 11:25 pm #1901842Congrats on both, especially the photos. We do love those birds as well. Is there a site or way to see the photos selected?
02/07/2009 at 12:48 am #1901843Not yet, they are adding a link to the KVR site to highlight the birds on the Reserve birding checklist. When it goes live, I can post a link.

02/07/2009 at 4:03 am #1901845We’ll give you pats on the back for the accomplishments, so you don’t have to do that yourself. Just keep sharing here and the pats will come naturally. You deserve all you get, Gwyn.
Can you say what birds were the objects of your chosen photos?
02/07/2009 at 4:35 am #1901846Cool! Congrats on both counts. Be sure to let us know when it’s done and where to find it.
02/07/2009 at 4:35 am #1901847Congratulations on your birdin’ accomplishment. Today was an eventful bird day for us too. The woods were awake with the sound of birds today as the weather warmed. It made each step on the trails more enjoyable. On a down note I hit a Red-Tailed Hawk taking off from a roadkill on our way to caching today. It was a glancing blow and I’m hoping that it survived. So I guess you could say we had a day full of “trekkin’ and birdin’.”
