This series isn’t meant to be a competition. The great thing is that people can complete the series at their own pace, or even just find the ones near them. But if you’d like to discuss your progress, feel free to do it here.

01/04/2015 at 6:35 pm #2033151I like the idea of completing the different biomes. I can’t believe I have found 31 caches in the series and still haven’t completed a single biome. It is a little amusing. I’m the closest on the Lake Michigan Biome, the only one I haven’t found is the one at Copper Culture. I think I may do a bit of a detour on the way home from the campout in the spring. Anyone else want to come? 🙂

02/09/2015 at 11:19 am #2035364Becca, We are down to needing to find just four more (plus logging the two we trailboss), and yet we’ve only completed two biomes!
Hopefully by spring we might get to the last four. From what I understand (and remember of that park), Lakeshore might be best found once winter has left the house!
02/09/2015 at 1:36 pm #2035374This is something I want to dedicate myself towards more this summer. I have no illusions of finding them all this year but I would like to find at least one in every biome before the year is out.
So far:
WGA State Park Series Finds
Lake Superior North Woods: 0 of 7 WGA SPS caches found.
Southern Savanna: 0 of 13 WGA SPS caches found.
Mississippi and Chippewa Rivers: 0 of 9 WGA SPS caches found.
Central Sands Prairie: 3 of 7 WGA SPS caches found.
Lake Michigan: 3 of 11 WGA SPS caches found.
I’ve really enjoyed the series so far and going to State Parks is always worth the effort.

Actually, Lakeshore isn’t best in the winter. Sorry!
OK, now it’s 35 and still no biome completed. It’s my own fault, I should plan my trips better, I suppose. The second-closest to our house is still unfound by me (Brunet) but it’s so close to our cabin that I’m saving it for the next time we go there. We don’t often go in the winter so it may be a few months.

02/09/2015 at 6:13 pm #2035385We are missing 2 for one biome and one for another. We were moving along pretty good at finding the caches until the family tragedies at the end of summer. Since the we have only found two. We have reservations for Door County at the end of May and hopefully that will happen after 2 cancellations last September. It will be a while before we get them all as we have never found a cache in any of the 24 counties in the NW part of the state.
03/03/2015 at 10:42 am #2036589I have only found 3 of them. I found the Lake Wissota one at Zuma’s Birthday bash, I found the Rib Mountain one when hiking with a friend who wanted to get into geocaching. And I was 1st to find the Council Grounds as it is about 2 miles from where I live. All of them were found before I realized it was an actual series for all state parks in Wisconsin. My mom had sent me a news article that this series was going to be a thing, so I decided to check it out. My fiance and I are planning some trips this summer to visit more of the parks. I can’t wait!

We hope to find them all, it probably will take us another 2 to 3 years. So far we haven’t logged the cache we’re trailbossing, we might do that one last. None found in the northwest yet, we’ll change that this summer!03/03/2015 at 8:21 pm #2036608Fall picnic is in the NW…

Excellent! We had a great time at the campout when it was in the NW. Looking forward to some NW smileys.
04/24/2015 at 10:24 am #2039189I have a badge! I have a badge! Only took me 37 finds to finally finish one biome. On Easter Sunday we visited a park on our way home and finished off the southern savanna.

04/27/2015 at 9:52 pm #2039305And as soon as the website updates the badges, I’ll have earned a second one. Woot woot! I volunteered to run a table on geocaching in Cornell, just across the river from Brunet Island SP. Perfect!

04/28/2015 at 1:10 am #2039306I’ve only gotten 5 of them but have plans to work towards at least 1 in each biome this year. Hopefully more. I have lived here all my life and really underutilized our state park system.
