Found 3 this year for a total of 31, but we’ll probably be stuck on that number for the next 6 months.
09/06/2016 at 9:25 am #2051465Added another 8 parks this past week to complete the Lake Michigan biome and get near the midway point of 22 so far. Followed the BigJim stamp everywhere in Door Co.
I simply cannot keep up with a geocacher with a temporary loaner vehicle (Baa Baa Black Jeep!) who’s on a quest to complete a statewide series…
09/07/2016 at 7:35 am #2051472It took us exactly three years (Sept 2013 to Sept 2016), but this week we found #46 & #47 to complete the series! We saved Harrington Beach for last, since we’re trailbosses for that one. It’s a good thing we went there this week too; the cache had been moved (again) and needed repair on the “accessory” attached to the cache.
My favorites are Devils Lake, Wyalusing, and Amnicon Falls. Well, they’re my favorites today. On other days I might change my mind and include Rib Mtn, Rock Island, Interstate, Mirror Lake, and several others. There’s so many great state parks to choose from and lots of great memories from them.
We’ve really REALLY enjoyed this state park series. It’s brought us all over the state in all seasons. Now what are we going to do? 😉
09/07/2016 at 7:50 am #2051473Someone gets a completion pathtag!

09/11/2016 at 9:05 am #2051524Will be going to Door County this week to grab those area State Parks and then plan to get my forgotten “Belmont” in October.

09/12/2016 at 10:27 pm #2051540I’m going to Rochester, MN this week, via Wildcat Mountain, Perrot. and Merrick. That’s a straight line, right?
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
09/13/2016 at 6:38 am #2051545Hmmmm I’ve been to all the state parks back in the 2002-2004 years when I geocached.. are there special caches to find in each park now for this? Would love another reason to visit them all again..

09/13/2016 at 6:45 am #2051546Wow, great to hear from a WI legend! 🙂 Yes, the WGA created a series in 2013 and the members helped us place a WGA State Parks Series in every WI state park. Here’s the info: http://www.wi-geocaching.com/wgasps/

09/13/2016 at 1:50 pm #2051552I am not sure what has been more rewarding – find all of the state park WGA caches myself or watching BigJim’s journey to find them all! That is an interesting route to Rochester!
The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.
09/13/2016 at 2:35 pm #2051553I find it rewarding that the person who was able to place the very first cache (with permission) in one of our state parks checked in here! Thanks for your pioneering spirit Lil’ Otter!
09/13/2016 at 5:00 pm #2051554Wow.. Trekkin and Birdin.. I totally forgot about that ‘history’ .. but I do remember that day and Ranger Dave being so kind and interested in this ‘new’ sport.. he and I also discovered a native burial site at that same park.. (Roche-a-Cri) when I was out exploring that park further.. I followed Native American Marker Trees to the site.. now only one or two marker trees are left standing.. time moves on.. but thank you so much for remembering me
09/13/2016 at 5:16 pm #2051555I find reading every log for the State Parks to be very rewarding. I really like watching the adventures everyone has.
