Lil Otter,we would really like to have to come to one of our events and talk about the early days of caching and how you traveled the state placing caches. Would you be able to attend our picnic at Black River State Forest on the 24th?

09/18/2016 at 9:57 pm #2051599I am not sure what has been more rewarding – find all of the state park WGA caches myself or watching BigJim’s journey to find them all! That is an interesting route to Rochester!
LOL!! I do what I can to entertain the masses. I had to drive straight through to Rochester on Friday, A) because of the rain, and B) because the custodian at school was mowing the lawn on Wednesday and launched a rock through the back-door window on the passenger side of Big Red. I set up an appointment in Wisconsin Rapids to have the window fixed, but their warehouse sent them the wrong window. When I told them that I was on my way to Rochester, they set me up with their store in Rochester and had a technician meet me at the Scout camp there. So now I had a schedule to follow. I did reverse the route on the way home today, and managed to check off those three state parks.Wish I had more time to find some of the other caches at Wildcat Mountain, it is a very nice park. I’ll have to get back there to explore some more. Only 9 parks to go. Next weekend I’m going to Illinois and plan to make a stop in Lake Geneva for Bigfoot Beach SP.

10/19/2016 at 10:13 pm #2051994Got it done last Thursday on Madeline Island. Wisconsin has such a great variety of State Parks. Favorite is Amnicon Falls, with Interstate a close second.
Thanks for the kudos!
10/20/2016 at 7:21 am #2051997Congrats on your completion! I haven’t finished the series yet, but I completely agree with you so far. I loved Amnicon Falls! Interstate was pretty cool too, I definitely want to get back there to explore a bit more.

10/22/2016 at 1:23 pm #2052012I snagged the last one – Belmont Mound on 10/13/16 accompanied by Hearty Soles – my witness!!! This is the one that is NOT on the State map or the DNR Visitor’s Guide to Parks and Forests. Heck, it doesn’t even say it’s a state park at the site.

10/22/2016 at 7:18 pm #2052016Congrats! That shows you how things change in 4 years!
10/23/2016 at 7:18 pm #2052021Way to go everybody! That’s a lot of mileage to cover!

11/03/2016 at 10:28 am #2052184We found the last seven WGA SP caches on our list October 16-24, which also gave us our last three biomes. Of course, we haven’t logged any of those finds yet. (Still working on the logs from a trip out west in August.
Photo below was taken on October 16.

That is awesome! Sounds like quite the trek you had 🙂
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
