Brewce came behind you and spilled the beans in his Rib Mountain log. Well done Mark and Pat!

11/06/2016 at 10:10 am #2052213Can anyone tell me if there is a challenge cache for finding all of the WGA state park caches?
The closest one that I’ve found/SL is GC55EFR Z Challenge: 40 State Parks – to find any cache in 40 different WI state parks, by Zuma! in the Lake Wissota SP.
11/07/2016 at 7:16 am #2052229Not an actual cache that I’m aware of, but you do get a really cool pathtag from the WGA.

11/07/2016 at 8:24 am #2052230No, the WGA talked about it but we decided not to do it. We figured a member could place one, if they wished. I believe it would actually be against the rules to create one where you have to find all from a specific list. But shortly after the series came out was the year-ban on challenges, another contributing factor to us not creating one.

11/07/2016 at 8:27 am #2052231If memory serves me correctly, challenge caches were under review when the BOD initiated the SP Series, and a final challenge hide would not have passed review because of its limitations on cache seekers. We wanted to work backwards at first, figuring out the “reward” for finding all of them. In the end, the biggest reward is seeing the diversity that the SPs have to offer, with the path tag coming in at a close 2nd! Zuma’s challenges at Wissota would be the closest thing to a final, as mentioned.
With the caretaking of Belmont shifting, and 2 other parks being considered for SP status, the BOD could hide a Final, if they discuss and act on it. Personally, I don’t think a Final is necessary.11/07/2016 at 12:42 pm #2052239Trekkin and Birdin also have this great challenge: GC3BRE4. I actually finished it right before the WGA SPS came out!

11/07/2016 at 12:47 pm #2052240In Waukesha county, GC4NBQ8 is about the 47 caches in the WGA state park series, but technically isn’t a challenge cache.
11/07/2016 at 3:59 pm #2052245It’s just been the ones at Wissota that I have personally seen but it appears that there a few others kinda out there :).
Also Just added one more to my list this weekend at Natural Bridge State Park. Also noticed that it looks like the Trailboss on that one has moved out of state so if maintenance is ever needed there let me know as I now frequent that area semi-regularly as my fiance’s family is only about ~15 minutes away and can do so whenever visiting.

11/08/2016 at 11:15 am #2052261You bet. The Commander took this over as TrailBoss but maybe I forgot to change the title. Thanks for the offer! I replaced this last year on my way through.

There is no overall challenge cache that was placed by the WGA for completion of the series. The committee decided to go with digital art on one’s WGA profile page when a biome had been completed… kind of like GC souvenirs. Not sure how frequently this is updated or if it still works, but that’s something to look for.
Five biome badges plus one for overall completion, only on your WGA profile page. The thinking was that this would also be a way to have people visit the WGA website and become more familiar with everything else that was going on with the organization.
