We have a cache down the street from us that we drive by almost every day. Yesterday I noticed that the tree it was in, and the others nearby, had been trimmed up by city crews. I didn’t know if the container was still there or not, but when we checked later, we saw that it was intact and hanging high on an open branch where someone had obviously placed it.
The city administrator knows of our caches in town, but we don’t know if he shared this information with the public works department. Knowledge or not, the container was clearly labeled “GEOCACHE”, and someone must have known about that enough to leave it in play, or else checked the explanatory note inside. No authorities were called in, no container was blown up… Just a repositioning of the cache, which we took down and then nestled back in some branches closer to where we had it originally.
Label and inform.
