    Two scenarios:

    1. Occasionally we have come across archived caches that are actually still there (working off old PQs, get back home to log them, see they’ve been archived for some time). What’s the best way to handle, assuming that an email to the cache owner doesn’t result in action from said owner?

    2. We are aware of a cache that was involuntarily archived, but has not been removed by the owner, and probably won’t be removed by the owner because said owner is not active. Does this constitute a “rescue mission request” through the WGA site, or should we just go ahead and “rescue” the cache?

    1. If the owner is active, contact them and see if they want help. Some people are just slow at getting out to pick them up. It is also possible that they are maintaining the listing on another site, or as a private geocache.

    2. If you find a cache which has been involuntarily archived, submit a mission to have it picked up. Those are probably NOT being maintained by their owners (which is why they were archived.)

    An excellent point; thanks.
