Geocaching is the perfect place to play with the numbers. FTF’s, total caches, caches per day…you name it.
Sloughfoot’s magnificent obsession is CONSECUTIVE DAYS CACHING. Today will be 50!
Congratulations! Now, on to 100!
10/03/2006 at 2:12 pm #1766131Good job! I had the weather in July burn me out after 31 straight days!
10/04/2006 at 7:13 pm #1766132Keep up the awesome work. Now onto 100…200……500!!
Just kidding.
great job.

It was great to meet you guys on the trails last week, out at Mirror Lake when ya told me about this little streak. Glad to see you are keeping it going. It is a very amazing thing, especially if ya can keep it going in Jan when it gets 30 below.
Keep us posted on your progress.

11/01/2006 at 11:15 pm #1766135Sloughfoot is now at 79…..
In case you wanted an update.
11/27/2006 at 12:27 am #1766136I would just like to update the count. On Wed Nov 22nd we hit 100 consecutive days and then stopped before it became a habit. Also with Thanksgiving the next day at the brother-in-laws we would have had to spend a lot of time getting another find. So the current streak is 1 day.
11/27/2006 at 1:39 am #1766137That is one heck of an accomplishment. Congrats on all the hard work.
11/27/2006 at 2:52 pm #1766138You are quite amazing sloughfoot!! Hey.. ..put you stuff on that “It’s Not About the Numbers Stats” thingy!!
I think the best I have seen for consecutive days was “7” I went on there an flipped the numbers, hoping to see how you were doing and I didn’t see you on there 😥
funny.. as much as I HATED my stats classes in college, I LOVE seeing them. Especially when it comes to seeing my fellow cachers stats moving in all directions.
11/27/2006 at 6:54 pm #1766139Ok.. that’s weird.. last nite none of the people with greater than 7 days showed up…now today… THERE ya are!! LOL
🙄 NEVER MIND!!!!!!!
11/29/2006 at 9:06 pm #1766140Sloughfoot that is amazing, now that you are back at 1 again, are you going to try and break your record?
12/01/2006 at 1:08 am #1766141The more I think about it the timing probably has to be right for a streak of 100, unless you are retired which I am not. You have to be experienced enough to find a high percentage of your caches but not so experienced that you have wiped out everything in your home territory. When we started this streak we had just gone over 400 caches and I travel over a big territory fixing computers. My GPS usually has about 850 caches loaded so it doesn’t take too long to get on the trail when I leave a customer site, and I am not afraid of weather. I doubt if I will go after another streak like this one but wouldn’t rule it out either!
