Only about 6 inches around us. We haven’t seen any serious melting yet, but we missed almost every one of the big snowstorms.
03/18/2008 at 10:52 am #1885116Well, we just a fresh 3 inches over night and it’s still coming down. I guess I been luck as all the trail I’ve hiking have been packed down pretty good. You get off them trail and snow can be just below the knees to above.

lagrac and I were in the Baraboo area, where dependent on the slope and tree cover, there could be anywhere from just patches to ankle-calf deep snow. From there, we were in Watertown, where it was largely bare but soggy in the lowlying areas.
Living only a few miles from Watertown I saw a serious melting of snow so i made my way to Baraboo as well and was surprised at how much snow was still there. I trekked through knee high snow in a couple of places there and actually “fell” off trail where the snow went up to my hip in a gorge. For the most part that area is calf high though…unless you get in an always shaded area. Still a couple more weeks for Baraboo to melt me thinks…assuming nature plays nice.
03/18/2008 at 2:08 pm #1885118Northeast Wisconsin isn’t too bad, but it does range from muddy/melted in some spots to over the knee in others. I guess that snow depth averages still about 12″, but by next weekend, more should be melted. I didn’t have too much trouble on Sunday, but had to be pulled out of a particularly deep pocket by my caching partner once.
03/19/2008 at 3:12 am #1885119All I know for sure is that if you plan to drive down a narrow snowcovered gravel lane, you best have someone with you that can push your vehicle out after you slide off the road. My only saving grace today was that I was still in view of the main road and someone stopped to help me out. There is still hope for Humanity.

03/22/2008 at 2:46 am #18851268 inches in Adams…so much for the 1-3 they were predicting. Still have a whole bunch of the old stuff left in the yard, too.
03/22/2008 at 4:12 am #1885127Glad I got out of there in time. Drove to Indiana via Illinois. Not a nice trip at all until south of Rockford then turned to rain and finally cleared off.
Have fun digging out. hoping that it will be melted away by Monday.Disclaimer : Always answering to a higher power.
