I figured that this subject needed it own thread. Share menu ideas and recipes.

I think me and the Mudduck will be having our traditional chicken wings for Sunday’s Super Supper.

I’d be interested in your chicken wing “sauce” recipe, especially if it’s hot and spicy!

It’s the wife’s recipe. Frank’s Red hot sauce and butter. I think there’s recipe on the bottle, and I think there have their own wing sauce too.

I think we are just going to do wings and a great big pizza from Rocky’s.

The more I think about it, the more I like the brisket idea. I may even fire up the smoker and do it right. Last night I was watching the Food Network and Robert Irvine smoked some brisket with white birch. I’ve never used birch for smoking, may have to give it a try.

A big pot of chili and I will be grilling brats. We will have anywhere from 6 to 11 poeple here.

Haven’t tried that one, probably have to put it on the off Island shopping list.

      Thanks, Tom

The usual football game ritual (it was on that other thread a few weeks ago). I am worried because I will have to get my sandwich early. The local sub shop is closing early, because of the game. I hope it doesn’t bring any bad juju.

We haven’t been to a Super Bowl party since… 2002? (The one with the wardrobe malfunction.) We usually try to cook a decent meal at home that day (could be anything), but since Mr. S has decided to boycott the game this year, and I don’t usually sit through all of it, who knows where we’ll be or what we’ll be doing or what we’ll be eating on Sunday. (Please don’t hate us for not bleeding Green and Gold!)

But I’m lovin’ all the recipes, so keep ’em comin’!

And BBG, get that sandwich, even if it goes stale before you eat it! 😉

        We’re serving Frito Dip.

1 roll Jimmy Dean regular sausage
        1 8oz. cream cheese
        1 can of Ro’tel tomatoes

Brown sausage & drain. Stir cream cheese and
ro’tel together in a sauce pan.
Add sausage. Simmer until it thickens.
        serve with Frito Scoops.

There is never any of this leftover!

        Captain & Coke! 8)

        For the boyos:
        Quesadillas
        sprouted grain tortillas
        1 red onion
        bunch of kale
        lb of portabello mushrooms
        balsamic viniagrette

Cook the veggies with the balsamic and then wrap in tortilla topped with the homemade hummus, excellent.

        Hummus
        1 1/4 cup garbanzo beans
        2 Tbsp tahini
        2 Tbsp lemon juice
        1 clove garlic
        1/4 tsp cumin
        1/4 tsp paprika
        1/4 tsp salt

Now this sounds good. Maybe not this Sunday, but definately on the list.

SWEET. I’ve never made hummus before, so now I have a recipe to try it out.

        #1942737

okay, made the hummus, now what to do with it? 😀
Other than the quesadillas, other uses for Hummus?

We just let the kiddos munch veggies and hummus or use as spread on sandwiches.

I just may have to whip up a batch of my Grandmother’s Clam dip.

Kids & Grandkids fought for who got to lick the bowl and the betters.

1 can ( 6.5 oz or so) clams (Drained-Save juice!)
8 ounces of “Philly” cream cheese
1 teaspoon lemon juice (Or more depending on taste)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder(Or more depending on taste)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce(Or more depending on taste)

This was a “add some of this and a little of that and a couple shakes of that and a few squirts this” recipe.

        Let the cream cheese soften.
Drain and save the clam juice than add the clams and the rest of the stuff.

Add about half of the clam juice and mix it up till you get the desired consistency . A couple more shakes of Worcestershire sauce or squirts of lemon juice. But the time it all said and done, I have used all the clam juice. Let it sit for a couple hours and serve with potato chips, pretzel stick or carrot sticks.
