The meeting with the Park Manager was a great success. We both educated each other on issues and topics that I think surprised both of us. The important thing is that lines of communication have been opened!
I started by answering a lot of her questions and gave her the brochure that Team LotsaCache had used at a recent REI clinic (she appreciated that…thanks). Then I shared several examples of cache containers and dispelled some other myths. We chatted for about two hours about all sorts of geocaching topics and State Park topics. We spent a great deal of time going over the trail maps deciding the best areas to place caches and parts that they would not allow caches to be placed for various (and very legit) reasons. There were places that I had been interested in placing caches, but thanks to her input and view point I believe that we have found much better places.
Ahh the sweet feeling of success…and as for a career in sales…no thanks…I think I would rather teach future sales people (Freshman)land ethic, frog disections etc…this is much more appealing to me…but thanks for the vote of confidence…
