Hello!
My name is Stephanie England or you might know me more as Averith’s kid. I have been caching with my parents since 2006 and made the plunge to go out caching on my own in 2008. Ā I do enjoy caching but I have found that I enjoy helping out at WGA events much more. Typically during those events I am helping out AuntieNae with the store, selling the many different forms of apparel.
Besides getting my own caching name in 2008 I also graduated high school and began the journey of becoming an early childhood educator. I have been teaching Preschool for 5 years now and recently began another journey to get my elementary education degree. As you can see my life is centered around children, although I do not have children of my own DNA I am dedicated to the children in my care and am proud to call them “my children”.
A few years ago AuntieNae asked me if I had any ideas to help bring the younger generation into geocaching. Ever since that questionĀ I have used caching to teach my Preschool class and their families about the many different ways caching can be fun and get them back outside while still using what theĀ childrenĀ think is a video game. I would love to have events and programs that are more child and young adult centered since many of the events by both the WGA and other cachers tend to be moreĀ adult centered. I do enjoy these events but as this new generation grows into adulthood I see more of them attached to their computers inside instead of going outdoors and learning the many exciting ‘things’ caching has to offer. Such as geography, outdoor skills (staying safe), respect for the environment, and of course learning how to be a sneaky ninja.
Thank you and I hope you all are having a great day!
