I have been contacted by Doris Dogs, mother of our late geocaching friend Steve Myers (Steve 0618) that a bench has been placed in his memory out at the Richard Bong State Recreation Area in Kansasville,WI.
Steve was an avid geocacher and loved the outdoors, especially the Bong area, so it is very fitting for a memorial bench for him be placed here.
It is not a cache, you receive no smiley or credit for finding it, but you may want to find it to pay your respects and reflect on your day of geocaching, sit a spell or just say hello and thanks to a man who loved people, the outdoors and geocaching.
He is missed by all who ever met him and was a person who after meeting once, was a friend forever.
The location of this bench is … N42° 37.369 W088° 07.615
If you can, snap a picture of you sitting here and send it to me at [email protected] and I will forward them to his mother, she would
love to see folks enjoying “Steve’s Bench”
Thanks and Happy Caching! …pappyhuz
Thanks for relaying that info, Jerry. Steve was a great guy, and I feel honored to have had the pleasure to meet him. It’s nice to see something like this as a commemoration to him.
