How many of you with kids, have noticed that you kids are no longer acting like just kids, but have become “geo-kids”? And explain how / why.
Our family’s example:
On the way to Ken and Mary’s July 4th Picnic yesterday … instead of our 9 yr old asking “Are we there yet?” … she said (as I was glancing at the GPSr), “Are we down to feet instead of miles yet?” … it was said with the same sort of whine to her voice that you’d hear with the traditional question. Was a good laugh for us!Oh yea, another Example:
Then when we got to the party, our 13 yr old was having Trudy and the Beast do a “funny story” thing where you fill in words. Our daughter asked the Beast for the name of an object … the Beast said “GPS” … our daughter gave him a knowing glance and proceeded to write down “GPSr” instead. Shame on you the Beast for getting that wrong![This message has been edited by EnergySaver (edited 07-05-2005).]

* * * * * * * * * *07/06/2005 at 12:22 am #1749910Every stump in the woods or nook and cranny in public places or pile of sticks or rocks is now “a great place for a geocache.”; many of which they immediately go check out “just in case.”
Any time I come back from the store, running errands, my parents house, or where ever, the smallest MiniPinks always ask me “did you find the cache?”

Co-conspirator to make the world a better place…07/06/2005 at 12:13 pm #1749911my son “along 4 the ride” wants me to take him out to do 22-25 caches because his sister “can’t sit still” is 21 caches ahead of him.
07/06/2005 at 12:39 pm #1749912Well my oldest is 3 and she looks at it all as a treasure hunt. She will say “let’s go tresure hunting daddy.” Right now treasure hunting is better than cartoons to her. As long as there is things to trade in the cache. Also for her the things found in the cache are better than the things bought at the stores. The other day I bought her a pin wheel at the store while I was shopping for tradables. We did not go hunting that day and she wanted a treasure bad. So I said that she had a treasure (the pinwheel). She said that it was a toy and not a treasure a treasure has to be found.
The only freedom we have is decideing what we do with the time we have.07/06/2005 at 2:32 pm #1749913quote:

That would seem like geocaching bumper sticker material to me!
Something like:
A toy is just a toy … but when you have to find it, it’s a treasure. Experience Geocaching!07/07/2005 at 3:12 am #1749914I’m all for the ‘treasure’ bumper sticker!
And BTW Jeff, did you find the cache?
