Two separately hosted geocaching events are being combined for supreme Summer Solstice fun!!!
The first event at the Isinours unit of the Richard J. Dorer Forest northeast of Preston, MN, hosted by Accordiongal and DOC will be Saturday, June 21, but you can feel free to camp in the area Friday night, June 20.
Here is a link to their event, which will feature a number of permanent (which means they can all be logged for smilies!) geocaches. As they note, a hostel/resort also is close by. Plus, there is remote camping available on the hilltop (only a 15-minute hike or so)

(The location listed on the event page may well change to a coffee shop with outside seating in downtown Lanesboro, as opposed to the take-out landing.) The link gives more info, including a canoe/kayak outfitter. You will go after my 4/5 rated Root of All Evil paddling geocache series. There are four total caches. You need to log the first three to get the necessary info for the final, which is TRULY EVIL!!! MOOOOOOOOOhahhahaha! (plus at least a couple other caches on the way and more may be placed. Am sorta planning a spring run on the caches Saturday, June 7 if interested)

06/03/2008 at 1:21 pm #1889961We’re test-driving Doc.’s first Beer, Bonfire and BS attempts in order to smooth out the wrinkles before bringing it to WI. One can have far more illegal fun across the border, ya know! Sometimes reciprocity can be a good thing! 😈 😯 😈
06/03/2008 at 1:24 pm #1889962….And, as Hemi is my witness, I solomnly promise to bring this sordid little BBB event to Bob’s Fire in Hayward before the summer is over….
06/03/2008 at 2:11 pm #1889963Can I bring my own kayak?
06/03/2008 at 2:24 pm #1889964Oh, yeah! If you’ve got your own equipment, bring it! Bring your bike, too! We’ve got caches and Earthcaches placed out on the Root River Trail, as well as a whole bunch more of unpublished new caches placed all over Isinours Forest Unit. No mosquitoes down in this neck of the woods, either. Snakes eat em.
06/03/2008 at 6:57 pm #1889965I am looking at those dates…I may be able to attend…still working out the details…

I’d Love to witness your sordid little plans in Hayward.
06/03/2008 at 11:21 pm #1889967Since Big Bob will be sitting on my right hand, you may have the honor of sitting on my left…. 😯 😆
06/17/2008 at 2:58 pm #1889968Wow! About 30 new caches placed out there, just waiting for the Saturday morning release. Trekkin’ and birdin’ were so kind to come and give us a hand with placing caches, so ya know there’s going to be something fun for everyone. Earthcaches, letterbox, puzzle, traditionals, hiking, biking, bonfire, beer, BS and some grilled salmon. Whew! Life don’t get much better!

Huh? When? And how did I miss this thread???
So Doc, REALLY?? Cuz, I was kinda thinking of maybe holding a Geocache-Birthday Bash around maybe August 23.
Since I’ll be turning a young 38, I figured 38 permanent caches were in order. And so far I have about 20-25 waiting in the wings which include a fitting tribute to the Z-man.
06/17/2008 at 9:03 pm #1889970Let’s do it!!!!!! It’s a great date for me. I’ll mark it on my calendar. Your Geo-birthday bash and the Official Beer, Bonfire and BS Event in the Nort County. (Nort of 29, that is!) Whadya say, Cheezehead??? 8)
06/17/2008 at 9:59 pm #1889971Greetings,
Isinours land manager has informed me that the hand water pump is in the repair shop. This means there is no water available at Isinours. Those in attendance will have to bring your own drinking and washing water.

06/18/2008 at 6:11 pm #1889972That time in August in Hayward sounds fun to me too. I have my in-laws visiting now so I can’t be gone this weekend 🙁 (even if I would like to be gone! 😉 ). Have a fun time!
06/18/2008 at 7:49 pm #1889973Come on, Cheezehead! Post it, Baby! And we shall come!
06/18/2008 at 9:31 pm #1889974I need to talk this over with the wife. Make sure there are no other plans I don’t know about. I’d say right now it is 50/50 for go. Stay tuned for details.(will post a different thread so we don’t teal this one anymore.)
