MemberI currently own 33 caches of which 25 have swag. I do site checks once a month or more if I read a log or get an email that a cache could use some TLC. The sizes range from small to about 3/4’s ammo can size.
When I started them I FILLED them with an assortment of things for young kids, school kids, & adults. There was some generic stuff for the in between cachers. Yes I do regularly make the trip to the Dollar store which I look for some of the nicer things such as the etched crystal pieces, or an area related item (a med baggie with bandaides & individual packets of alcohol wipes & neosporin packets) for a cache I hid in a tight spot that had briars. Ive included live crystals, small travel games (for in between cache trips) coupons for discounted prices at the nearest DQ & Rita’s. There have been small pocket books on tree’s, plants, birds, local wildlife & shells.
I carry some things with me when I cache for restocking other caches as I go. I seldon take anything. I will grab a military patch or pin. I’ll take a TB to move or a coin to move but I leave something. A couple of match box cars or snap & glow sticks. Cards, action figure etc. For me its the hunt & find.
There are a few people in my area that do some really awesome swag. 1 guy does these intense puzzel caches. They require homework or a trip to the library & for the best cacher takes days or even weeks to complete. He offered a FTF 1st addition to a particular book. That was pretty intense.I have found some pretty cheezy stuff left in my caches but it goes with the game, but most of the stuff is ok. MW

MemberFor those interested in good swag in caches, you might want to consider visiting GC17Y36.
The first 12 finders of this cache are being awarded a 12 pack of their choice. A trio of Minnesota cachers have finished it, and each received a 12 pack of their choice. Since they were all from Minnesota, I guess it was not surprizing they all wanted Summit beer, one choosing Great Northern Porter, one India Pale Ale, and one Extra Pale Ale. A photo of the 3 12 packs and one happy cacher has been posted on the cache page.
There are still 9 12 packs left to be awarded, so the sooner ya get cachin, the sooner ya can get your beverage.

MemberHey Ralph, We have that challenge on our “to do” list, and I’m tellin’ ya…..luck has not been on our side so far! We have like 2-3 of them done. We went for one when we were in Hudson, and it was buried in snow and ice. Went for the Punch Bowl one and the final was missing!
Went for the one on the Ice Age Trail, tried to get the first one in that puzzle and the snow and ice were brutal there, too. Those three guys deserve a couple 12-packs for getting this one as they did! With less snow and ice, we’ll be back on the hunt now! LOL Be watching for our own challenge with nice swag to pop up very soon. 😉
