Just wondering after the meeting last night in which we and 3 other caching teams are trying to help a committee put out some great caches.
Please share ideas and opinions.
Timberline Echoes01/31/2007 at 4:35 pm #1769413Lynn and I are not into the coin fad…so I voted for the t-shirt. I always like having different types of shirts, so I think that would be the way to go in my opinion. However, if I collected coins I think I would rather get a coin than a t-shirt.
01/31/2007 at 4:48 pm #1769414By travel bug, do you mean a new travel bug tag, a pre-made travel bug ready to be released, or an all ready circulating travel bug?
New tags would be a nice, inexpensive reward! (I voted for the non-trackable coin though)

I did as well, but realistically if it’s free who wouldn’t want the trackable one? No one says you need to activate it, so it comes down to how much extra value does a trackable coin have over a non-trackable one? To me there is little if any added value to a trackabe coin as I generally don’t release them…or in some cases even activate them.
01/31/2007 at 5:14 pm #1769416Often times a great cache is a reward in itself and if there are several of them, well thatΓ’β¬β’s even better. With the current popularity of geocoins I think this would be a great reward.
01/31/2007 at 5:35 pm #176941712 of 18 … A pat on the back would be nice π
01/31/2007 at 6:02 pm #1769418The FTF bugs will be activated and have hitchhikers. I am suggesting that they give away inactive bug tags as prizes. Then the “winner” can add what they want and give it the goal they want.
TE01/31/2007 at 6:08 pm #1769419I voted for a T-shirt. I believe it would get much more usage and be cool to wear to events. A coin would also be nice however this might be tricky/expensive since it is hard to determine how many people will actually find 12 of 18. Minting might be difficult/expensive not having a good idea of how many to make.
01/31/2007 at 7:23 pm #1769420I think the coins for the Chippewa Valley event were a big hit, and they have learned from their first year and are making them trackable this time around. Very cool. If it’s in the budget, I think that would be a pretty spiff participation tchotchke.
Although a t-shirt could be nice too. I’m still waiting for one that says “I survived the Gauntlet”. π
01/31/2007 at 10:49 pm #1769421I like t-shirts myself, but I am also a pin collector. Not the Button style but a nicer medal one, ike the sell on some of those coin producing sites.

How about “I survived The Gauntlet and the attaches upon it”
Actually I need the ” I survived the Gauntlet……twice” T-shirt!! LOL
01/31/2007 at 10:52 pm #1769423I voted for the trackable coin, because I’m too cheap to buy them. But I’d drive 3 hours to get in the area and spend the rest of the weekend driving around and finding the caches to get a coin. Not real lean thinking.
But the other half would like the T-shirt because coins get stolen too easy.
01/31/2007 at 10:56 pm #1769424i voted for the coin, cuz i’m starting to get into the coin crazy but not to much cuz spending money on the coins gets a little expensive but to get a coin for free for going caches would be awesome!
01/31/2007 at 11:16 pm #1769425π Since I have my own personal geocoin collection, my vote would be for the trackable geocoin. Thanks for asking, Tami
01/31/2007 at 11:38 pm #1769426I like the coin. Sign me up.
