I released a TB about a year ago (TB3EGZ9) and it was picked up and taken up North. It was grabbed by a cacher in Manitowoc and he has been holding it ever since. E-mail to the cacher (starbubz, premium member) have gone unanswered, but according to geocaching.com, he is still in possession. He mentioned a physical limitation in his log so I don’t know if he is still an active cacher and just can’t get out to drop it. Also, he is kind of a newbie and may not know what to do with it (it’s the only TB he has ever found). If this is the case, I was wondering if there is someone out there who knows starbubz personally, and can help him move it along.
I normally don’t ask the community to get involved but I am very frustrated over his lack of response and the fact that he is only the second person to grab this bug.
Welcome to world of trackables! Yours is an experience shared by many, including myself. About 1/2 of mine are missing, several in the hands of cachers who’ve failed to follow through. I’ve sent notices to them too…several times…two or three times a year…with no response. It certainly is frustrating, but hang in there. I’ve heard that every once in a while, they suddenly start moving again. That hasn’t happened to mine, but one always hopes. Good luck.
Good luck with this. I have a TB that I sent to europe last cache bash and the cacher I gave it to has never placed the TB in a cache. So I would say put out another one and hope that this cacher willl place it some day. This is all part of the hobby. Its all on the honor system
