We picked up a travel bug this week… or I should say thought we did, until we opened the bag. The TB page is in it and a nice collection of keychains… but no TB. It’s name is Deception Keychain Collector Travel Bug and there is a photo of it with it’s tag on. How can we figure out who the owner is without a tag number?
Thanks,
Timberline Echoes
Thanks Bec, Yes that is it. We e-mailed the owner and will be waiting for a reply. How did you do that? Is there a search feature by a TB’s name or is this something only administration can do?

From the main gc.com page, I just went to the Track Travel Bugs link. On the next page, under Travel Bug Lookup, there is a link for Advanced Search. I just did a keyword search for keychain, and there it was!
I had to do that about a year ago when I found a travel bug without a tag too.
Bec
I just looked at the link Bec posted…the “holder” is a newbie with only 5 finds. The bug in question is the only one they’ve logged. Perhaps they thought they could take the tag and leave the rest…maybe they still have it. Try emailing them as well. If they have it, they can make sure it gets back on the bug.
We had made contact with the owner and they are sending us the copy tag to replace the one that is missing from the bug. Then we’ll be able to send the bug on its way.
