05/05/2008 at 3:31 pm #1888805The untold story here is that Team DeeJay spent most of the day at the Scout Expo in Waukesha demonstrating the finer points of geocaching (like finding micros on street signs) to people who stopped by. THEN afterwards went caching. Congrats on the milestone Dave!
05/05/2008 at 3:32 pm #1888806Way to go Dave!
05/05/2008 at 5:20 pm #1888807Thanks everyone. As Steve indicated, I did spend most of the day preaching the gospel of geocaching to young, impressionable scouts (and parents). It was really the best part of the day, even though I had a hard time explaining why twoworldly labeled his “film can in a lamppost skirt” hide as a “Large”. When I finally got away to do some caches, I hit the find nearest cache button and away I went … to yet another dead end road cache. I thought “So this is how its going to go today”. OK, whats the next one? Old Jersey, which I have tried to find four times now. And, for the fourth time in a row, someone is fishing on top of the cache. “Things aren’t looking so great…” But then, things started looking up as the rain picked up. Mudslide Mockingbird took me to a new area I had never visited, which was a very fun hike. Then I visited the “Ryan Property”, an old farm which apparently the county is taking back to prairie. This place was really great as this is the first time in a LONG time that I have been able to handle that type of terrain. I can’t really explain how happy I was exploring this little muddy patch of land, so special thanks to Mister Greenthumb, Callerdude, Thingfinders and Opps5 for placing caches there for me to find. But, most important, thanks to all of you for making us feel welcome in this great community and putting up with some of my crazy ideas.
Team Deejay
