…um don’t ya mean Powder Hill? I’m thinkin’ Pikes Peak is a bit further East of here….both of them. However, congrats Hemi I’m glad you could celebrate among good friends.

04/14/2008 at 8:09 pm #1887802Thanks All, To think Zuma will turn off Neil Young long enough to listen to Buffett. Whoo Hoo
That is a great cache if you havent been up there yet you must go to this one. I am glad I saved it for a special occaision. It took us a bit longer than some to get to 1000 but it was still worth the trip. As a line in a Buffett song says.
Go fast enough to get there
But slow enough to see
Moderation seems to be the keyIt kind of fits with my perception of caching. Its fun to watch the numbers but be careful not to miss everything in between.

04/14/2008 at 8:58 pm #1887803everything in between
this is not only relevant to caching but also to life in general…
or put another way, it’s all about the journey not necessarily the destination.
congrats on your excellent journey to 1,000 destinations!

Now, that is a TRUE fan–gets his words to live by from the artist!!!!
I know, because I mentally have a WWJLD bracelet on one arm, and WWNYD on the other. LOL. And while it is funny, it is also interesting that some of the most profound thoughts, philosophy to live by, and interesting ideas have come from rock musicians, especially thinkers like Lennon, Young and Dylan.
Anyway, interesting to see Buffet’s philosophy here, and I agree with it as well:
Go fast enough to get there
But slow enough to see
Moderation seems to be the keyIf I had a third arm, I suppose I could get a WWJBD bracelet.

04/15/2008 at 1:47 pm #1887807Fins up Hemi! Couldn’t happen to nicer people.
The Chinese proverb is “The Journey Is The Destination”, which pretty much sums it up.
Look forward to the next time we bump into each other. And I WON’T be looking for that bracelet…
