While on their trek east, Seth and Marie, with Noah riding shotgun, nailed the Little Rhody DeLorme challenge for what? Their like 8th DeLorme?
Congratulations guys. Looks like you had a great trip!
09/22/2009 at 10:04 pm #1914487And I wonder how much spill over into MA and CT they did!??
09/23/2009 at 1:25 am #1914488Congrats! I see a Maine log just popped up! 😯 😀
09/23/2009 at 3:02 am #1914489Congrats!! I wonder what it would take to do alaska’s?
09/23/2009 at 4:22 am #1914490Congratulations THB! So, just how long does it take to do RI’s DeLorme?
you can walk across the state in about 2 hours, right? (not downplaying the accomplishment at all, just curious 😉 )Disclaimer : Always answering to a higher power.

09/23/2009 at 3:55 pm #1914495Congrats yet again, Seth and Marie! Curious, too, as labrat mentioned, about how many pages there were there and was able to find that twelve would do it. As for rsplash’s question on Alaska, oh golly, 133 is what I was able to get for a number, though that seems like the minimum, and I wonder what kind of terrain average that would involve! 😯 Don’t know if there even is a complete challenge doable there. Should we nominate an emissary? 😉
09/23/2009 at 9:12 pm #1914496WOW! 8 Delormes? I can’t even finish one. WTG you 3.
09/25/2009 at 4:40 pm #1914497Thanks for noticing Gwyn, you must watch everybody 😉 . It was a great vacation, and yes, we did another DeLorme. Little Rhody has 12 pages. Three have two segments, but you’re only required to find a cache in one segment. Physical caches only and the pages are only 11 miles across as opposed to I think 22 for Wisconsin?
People have completed it in less than a day, but we were on vacation and that seemed a bit beside the point. We did 9 pages the first day, starting almost right by the hotel, and then we did 3 the next day, taking a liesurely day in the Newport area enjoying the beaches and the seafood. BBWolf got back to us within a couple hours with the coords for the final, and we went and found it at the crack of dawn the next morning before heading north for Maine via the other New England states.
The icing on the cake was getting to meet the cache owner at an ocean clean-up CITO. The locals were good people 8) .
If it floats your boat, I’d really recommend it. It was a lot of fun, and the countryside was pretty with quite a few Revolutionary veterans in the cemeteries.
