just checking with the pre-loading at the check in table if there would be a loading option for the new Magellan Explorist 600. I can bring my cable if needed, but didnt know what software you would be using and if it works with this unit.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the heads-up! The folks with the laptops in charge of d’loads will have a better idea of what we’ll need; but I’d imagine we’d be taking you up on the offer for the cable. Thanks. We may need to play with it a bit before hand to make sure we can get it to work with the laptops and systems we’ve got as I’ve read some folks have had issues with the USB aspect of it.

    Good Call!

We use ExpertGPS and EasyGPS to upload the .gpx files into your GPS. I don’t see your GPS listed in the program. I’ll try to update my software and see if it’s been added to the hardware list.

Garmin’s all use the same format for file transfers, which is nice. I’m not sure if Magellen uses the same protocols between the different models.

Like Jeff said, it would be a good idea to bring your data cord. We will have many cords available, but we might not have them all :-). Be sure to put your name on the cords so they don’t get mixed up. Sometimes we might ask to borrow one for a few hours.

    Brian-
Will you have the USB drivers loaded for the 60C/CS?

Doesn’t the 60 c/cs still have the round 4 pin connector on it, in addition to the usb? If so, we will just use the round connectors. It takes about 5 seconds to upload the waypoints to the Garmins. The added speed of usb won’t be noticed for waypoints.

I would imagine I’ll have the USB drivers next week. I think they’re included on the disk for my new StreetPilot 2610, which is in the mail

New GPS, Sweet!! Yup, the 60C has the round connector, just curious about the USB. Thanks!
