As some of you may know, we recently retired the majority of our caches due to lack of time to properly maintain them. A huge thanks to Walkingadventure for doing the legwork to retrieve the containers and we are glad that they can be put to good re-use.
Thanks also to the many, many geocachers out there who have taken the time to express your thoughts in online logs. It has been rewarding to read each and every one from those who took the time to record your experiences.

We’ve enjoyed some of yours and their loss to the geocaching community is a loss indeed. I was hoping someone would adopt Pirate Pete, as I’d done the online solving ages ago and we just never got there. Our loss.
Thanks for your efforts and enjoy the next phase of life!
I know someone with the log sheet and the container may reappear at the campout. I will be glad to rehid the log book for you if you would like.

Best wishes to you as you move on to other things!

Michael, it was out pleasure to not only do the caches but rescue and repurpose the containers.

My count is 20 ammo cans and numerous other bison, nano and tupperware containers. Yesterday I put on almost 27,000 steps or a little over 13 miles.

Nice going!

I believe that container may be making a reappearance at an upcoming event before a replacement in the field, and you are more than welcome to sign the log of the original, if it exists. Not sure if the pirate booty is still there…

I have seen some Pirate Booty (!?!) still sitting around ( 🙂 )

We had a great time when we did Pirate Pete with our grandkids. To add to the adventure there was a sign posted that said a bear had been sighted in the area. Still one of our top ten “fun caches”.
Thanks for playing the game ethically, from start to finish!
