05/18/2009 at 12:03 am #1907923On behalf of all of us (Rob, Karen, and Stephanie) thank you for a fantastic event!! We had such a wonderful time visiting with everyone, geocaching, eating pancakes, and everything else.

05/18/2009 at 4:18 am #1907924This was our family’s first campout event and WGA event and we had a blast. Thanks for the great prizes and the breakfast was great. The WGA is a great group of people and I’ve learned it shows in the events most. Even with cold windy weather my family did not mind camping without swimming.
I gave props and recognition to the temp cache hiders in my event log by noting which temps we did and jotting a few memorable notes about them. Please also do so if you enjoyed the temps. Yeah, folks don’t like that they are not “real” and can’t be logged but they were a lot of FUN!! Very creative and a blast to find. I happen to know it was hard work getting these hid and retrieved so thanks to everyone who helped.
I am definitely hooked now for future campouts. Thanks for the good times.
05/18/2009 at 4:31 am #1907925Echoing the thanks about the campout 😀
With regard to the temporary caches, I guess I see things differently. I always go after the temps, because I can find the permanent ones another time. Numbers matter, but are only one part of this game. The effort of the hiders was obvious–clever containers, ingenious placements, helpful (or obscure) clues–I am so appreciative. I wish I could have found them all, but I take solace in knowing other cachers had trouble with the same ones I did. I didn’t know so many people don’t bother with temps until talking with them at the campout. You don’t know what you’re missing!
05/18/2009 at 5:10 am #1907926Thanks from us too. We appreciate all the work that goes into putting on such a great event.
TE05/18/2009 at 11:42 am #1907927Thank you to the WGA and volunteers for a wonderful event. I had a great time caching with friends, catching up with old friends, and meeting new ones. Good job.
05/18/2009 at 2:10 pm #1907928Well I for one thought it was horrible, you guys stink…NOT!!!! 🙄
Thanks to all for an awesome time! The best part of the camp out for me is getting to meet all the other cachers! And you guys always make that easy and fun with the bingo and the pancakes and the grills and the other stuff I wanted to thank you for but I can’t remember right now…
BTW, I loved the format this year with the Friday night caches!! It left Saturday open for some last minute end of the day caches and some solid hanging around the camp fire sessions!
05/18/2009 at 6:19 pm #1907929Kamic and I only drove down for the day on Saturday but would surely have liked to try the night caches…maybe next year. We did only a couple of the temps because unfortunately I couldn’t download them to my Lowrance SD card. But we had a blast…it was especially great meeting and talking to so many of you that are passionate about the game. And thanks to the organizers…your effort was outstanding and very much appreciated[:D]

05/21/2009 at 1:47 pm #1907930Even though I wasn’t there, I want to add my thanks to all the organizers who planned and carried out the 2009 camping event and kept the proud tradition of WGA events going strong. Looks like you had a great time. This was the first “major” WGA event that I did not attend so now only JeremyV can claim that he has been to all of them. 😀 BTW, I had a good excuse for not being there. I was invited to attend the first-ever “Cherokee’s Welcome Spring” geocaching event in my home town in Iowa (GC1KXWH), which was also well-attended and well-organized. It included a 10-mile canoe/kayak cache-hunting paddle down a river on Sunday morning. Very fun!
