Having a discussion the other day with my neighbor who is semi into geocaching and he had placed a couple of caches that got denied and he wanted my thoughts on why. After the discussion I said I wouldn’t want the job of being a reviewer as you’d have to have pretty thick skin and do it for the love of the sport without any credit for the good days.
Well, now today I see today that gc on Facebook would like us to thank the volunteers and so I thought I’d spread the love to here. So thanks to our reviewers here in Wisconsin. Thanks for putting up with us!09/25/2010 at 1:41 am #1936499We would also like to thank our Wisconsin reviewers. One or the other always seems to be on duty to get submitted caches published in a timely manner. If we do our homework as cache hiders with regards to placement, proximity, etc., we can make their jobs easier. But if we don’t, or if we forget something, we hear about it, as is their duty to keep us on the straight and narrow, no matter how much we may want to push the envelope with our cache creativity.
And it’s a volunteer job. And sometimes a thankless one. And they do it well. (And they’re real people, too, but you didn’t hear it from me! 😉 )

you know who you are (and many of us do too 😀 )

09/25/2010 at 3:40 am #1936501I saw that article in the latest GC.com e-newsletter also. I commend our Wisconsin reviewers for the job they do. It’s got to be tough trying to keep track of all the issues that can arise throughout the entire state and they do a great job. I also thank them for all the guidance they’ve provided to me when asking a question prior to starting on a cache. It’s nice to know they’re willing to help up front instead of just being a gate keeper with a yes / no switch.
I make a motion we double their pay for next year (4 zeroes to the right of the decimal instead of 2).
09/25/2010 at 4:12 am #1936502Thanks 199 times Dave and Becky. All of your hard work has resulted in hours and hours of enjoyment for us reading the thousands of logs on our caches.
09/25/2010 at 11:29 am #1936503I’d like to add my thanks also. You guys do an awesome job and usually it is done very quickly! Thanks for devoting so much of your time to make this game possible for the rest of us.
09/25/2010 at 12:39 pm #1936504Indeed, THANKS A TON! 😀 You are selfless in giving of your time to an activity we enjoy immensely. And, you always handle things professionally and very expeditiously – my hat’s off to you.
09/25/2010 at 7:22 pm #1936505Big thanks to the reviewers! I haven’t had to contact you, but if it were not for your efforts, caching would dwindle away. Thank you for the time you put into the review process.
09/27/2010 at 6:56 pm #1936506Thanks Becky and Dave for all the hard work, and endless hours of putting up with my cache hiding! 😀 Without you guys, I’d have a bunch more caches to maintain. LOL 😆
Seriously though, Thanks for all the hard work! ❗
09/28/2010 at 6:40 pm #1936507You are welcome! Now, step away from the keyboard and get outside!
09/28/2010 at 10:05 pm #1936508Thanks for the great work
09/29/2010 at 1:59 am #1936509Those reviewers are nothing but know-it-all jerks who just want to make our lives difficult. Heck, they don’t even have any hides or finds!
(edited because I can’t spell, and I can’t have a poorly spelled rant…)
09/29/2010 at 2:14 am #1936510Many thanks to the Dynamic Duo!! 😀
09/29/2010 at 2:15 am #1936511You let ’em have it Bec!
09/30/2010 at 1:32 am #1936512Yes, thank you so much for all that you do. I know I have made a few mistakes and have made them do things they should not have to. The do it in stride and make the process as easy as possible. Not enough can be said, and we appreciate it no matter good or bad!
