So many people did so much to pull off the many components of the West Bend Cash Bash. I did want to take a moment to thank the WGA members who helped set up, staff and take down the WGA Membership Booth:
AuntieNae
GreatEyes
Trekkin&Birdin
Scrappy Scout
Averith
Team DeeJay
Labrat_wr
Team Black-cat
KSpud
Team HoneybunniesIf I missed anybody, please let me know. At the WGA booth we were able to provide general information about the WGA, the Pancake Breakfast, distribute WGA pencils, and new this year, sell WGA shirts.
The WGA shirt sale went very well, with many sizes selling out quite quickly.
We were not able to do nametags this year, but hopefully next year we can get sufficient volunteers to do that as well, as that was the most requested service that we were unable to provide.
Thanks to all who helped out with the WGA booth, and thanks to all who visited.

08/16/2010 at 3:07 pm #1934525frmr and lone gunman were present most of the day as well, which was much appreciated. It’s a fun way to put many faces to names, especially at a big event like this.
08/16/2010 at 11:40 pm #1934526There was the cacher formerly known as Toyota Ryan helping out also.
08/17/2010 at 12:35 am #1934527Most especially a hearty thank you to those who spent the day, and manned or womaned those mid-day hours when there are few cachers actually lurking on the grounds. We were blessed with quite a few volunteers who spent time at the booth. Thank you all, ya done good.
08/17/2010 at 1:06 am #1934528Thanks to all that made this event a success!! Looking forward to next year. Hopefully my back will be back to normal by then!
08/17/2010 at 1:35 am #1934529Im glad I was given a chance to help out this year and hope for the same next year.. Thanks
08/19/2010 at 4:41 pm #1934530Looks like I left off a couple people from my initial list…..oops, I guess that is because I was out caching, after I got the booth set up. Anyway, thanks to all the folks who helped out at the WGA booth this year

I would like to see us do nametags at the booth next year, since we were able to get this many volunteers.
If any you who helped with the booth this year have ideas on whether or not we should do nametags next year, or have other ideas for next year, please let me know, or post them here.
thanks

08/21/2010 at 12:30 am #1934531I know some of the people I talked with were looking to get a name tag. I know I would like to see name tags done next year I know my wife wouldn’t mind helping with the tags. I wouldn’t mind helping make tags.. But thats just me.
08/21/2010 at 2:38 pm #1934532I heard this from 5 other cachers that were there and they were wondering where to get a WGA nametag. I told them I thought the WGA would be doing them on Sunday. The Chamber’s bash itself next year will have paper nametags, but I think people still want the WGA ones. I am not sure if it was a cost issue or what since I can’t speak for the WGA, I am sure Zuma will chime in here and maybe answer that one! 😀

We were not able to do the nametags this year because of inadequate number of volunteers. While quite a few people volunteered at the last minute, or just showed up on the day of the event to help out, a week prior to the event it did not appear as if we were going to have adequate volunteers to help out. So we were unable to do the nametags because of inadequate numbers of volunteers.
My hope is that people will step up sooner next year and volunteer, so that we can make arrangements to do the name tags.
I know that the West Bend planning committee runs into the same issue. It takes volunteers to do volunteer activities. Without the willing warm bodies to help out, then it is just not possible to do everything that we would like to do. Another example of the same type of thing is having a person staffing a table for trackables. Without a volunteer to do this, the West Bend Cash Bash Committee had no choice but not offer this activity.
In other words, if people really want a monitored trackable table next year, and WGA nametags next year, then they may want to consider volunteering, even for an hour or so, to help out and make those volunteer activities possible.
thanks.
