The 1st Picnic to Picnic TB Race is coming down the home stretch! The field has dwindled from 47 racers to less than 47 racers! Who will take the checkered flag?
With that said, it’s time to plan your entrant in the 2nd Annual WGA Picnic to Picnic Travel Bug Race. There will be TB Tags and WGA Travel Tags available at the picnic. Just bring along something to attach to your trackable and VROOOOOM! Your off!
See you at Governor Thompson State Park on September 21st!

I will NOT miss this this year. Last year I was in Russia. I will be there and I will win! Starting the trash talk already. I have trips planned to Burkina Faso, Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Paris this next year!
I am cheering for Bad Robot to come on strong this last month. You can do it Bad Robot…you can do it!

You cannot take your own TB with you over the next year, but you could stash mine in your carry on bag and drop it in a cache on your trips.

Can’t I just drop it in a cache in Paris? Come on Barry….seriously?

08/26/2013 at 11:53 pm #1971704If we decide to keep the same rules as last year:
Rules that were added by race organizer
1. All travel bugs must be present at the 2012 WGA Picnic event. Travel Bug tags will be available for sale at the event if needed.
2. The first stop for your traveler should be the picnic event. You can eiter take it with you to place in a cache of your choice, or leave it with the event staff to be dropped in one of several undisclosed caches around the state.
3. Only the FIRST move by a single cacher will be counted for miles. (No “dipping” for miles.)
4. Travel bugs must be released into the wild. (No “discover only” travelers)
5. The main reason for this race is to have fun. Please don’t spoil it by trying to find a way to “beat the system”.
6. Bragging in the WGA website forums is allowed and encouraged.Following the signals from space.

Do I have to put it on the table? Can’t I bring it to the picnic and keep it in my pocket? I think it has severe allergies..

09/04/2013 at 2:01 pm #1971707For all cachers attending the GeoPicnic, we invite you to compete in the WGA TB Race II, which will kick-off at the Event!
This year, we are charging a modest $3 entry fee per trackable, to help cover the cost of prizes at the end of the race next year. Or, you can purchase a WGA Travel Tag to send out that day for $7 and the entry fee is waived, just for supporting the WGA!
If you have a TB ready to race, feel free to drop it in the Event. Otherwise, you can activate it at, or shortly after, the GeoPicnic.
ALL TRACKABLES MUST START THEIR JOURNEY AT THE GEOPICNIC ON SEPTEMBER 21ST!
If you raced last year, be sure to attend this years GeoPicnic to receive your “bling” for participating in the WGA TB Race I. You may even win a consolation prize!
See you there!
