A great day of caching with friends (loved ones really) that is full of laughter. (and a delicious Mexican meal afterward doesn’t hurt)
marc’s Cemetery Challenge.
Seeing parts of the state/country that I would have never come across before.
Driving past a park, sign, cemetery, etc. and thinking “there’s a cache right there.”
My “lame” eTrex.
A day caching with silent sweech and her ‘lame’ eTrex. 😀
➡ And, seeing the cache before she does while we are still 40 yards away ❗
But, then laughing at our favorite Mexican eatery (Senor T’s) while we enjoy our meal.
“Schooling” unkle Sparse on s|s puzzle hides. (and winning bets while doing it) 😀
Running through the woods to beat him to GZ.
💡 SGH’s “prophetic” quotes.
But…most importantly, side comments with the Blondie Bloodhound about how much our back hurts from carrying him. 😆

Love ours, too, but we keep up with it and it keeps up with us just fine, so it’s not lame at all.

To walmart for carrying matchstick containers and fleet farm for carrying ammo cans.
Extremely quick review/approvals on newly submitted caches. Thanks reviewers!! 🙂
Say, “AMEN!”
05/07/2009 at 2:03 am #1907386Hey what about the Department of Defense for puttin’ satellites up in the sky in the first place.
And Dave Ulmer for thinking this crazy thing up.
And Jeremy Irish for gladly taking our annual memberships to provide us with a listing service.
05/07/2009 at 2:40 am #1907387Geocaching is better than bowling, baseball or most other sports cuz you can still smoke a stogie while playing, and if nature calls, it is not a problem to keep care of business and keep on going.

05/07/2009 at 2:51 am #1907388I’d like to praise those that take the time to practice CITO….its a small way for us give back to the community for letting us “play” in their area.
Plus I agree with what everyone has given “praises for thus far.” Tami05/07/2009 at 7:59 pm #1907389Another great thing about geocaching is all the great events. We had a great time at the Wausau CITO on Saturday and the Stevens Point event on Sunday.
Now we are looking forward to the upcoming WGA campout and the West Bend Cash Bash…..Awesome that so many people are willing to do the work to pull off first class events like this.

05/07/2009 at 11:55 pm #1907390I haven’t done enough caching to validate a post on the gripe thread, although I have had my frustrations, but they mostly come from my end of things! 😳 Positives, though, I CAN post! 😀
Ditto of so many posted above, and I want to add, the generosity, friendliness, and kindness of other geocachers, who take the time to help out novices, in the forums or in the field, with getting to know our fine hobby. I am still learning, but even I was able to “pay it forward” already. Let’s keep up the great sportsmanship!
05/08/2009 at 1:38 am #1907391Thanks for posting such a great thread! I really enjoy spending time with my family while caching. It has taken us to new and interesting places that has left us with endless memories. I also like the fact that caching has given my oldest son a keen sense of his surroundings.
05/08/2009 at 2:49 am #1907392Another thing great about caching is WGA3 publishing a new cache at 9:30 at night on such a beautiful night. Just got back from a quick FTF run in the nearly full moon, and there is nothing better than being out at night on a warm spring night. Gotta love it!

05/08/2009 at 3:03 am #1907393The one thing I have been most appreciative of is how caching has caused us to push to do things that in the past we would not have thought we could do and learning to do things we didnt think we could do
My wife climbing 40 feet up a pine for a cache
Having most of blackout completed (5 left)
From doing difficult terrain caches we have a balance impaired cacher in our twosome, who has learned enough balance to ride a bicycle again for the first time in 16-17 years
Caching the Bugline Bike trail on Saturday, on a bike
Besides that and most importantly all the great people we have meet through this sport and some great memories that will never fade
05/09/2009 at 11:22 am #1907394I’d like to echo the thankful comments and suggestions of many others, particularly gotta run and cheeto. For me, the fun of discovery in the outdoors, especially the natural settings that get noted for sharing with my family is at the core of it all. Those who take time to rehide a cache properly, bring extra logs sheets and other maintenance items with them to keep caches in good shape and attractive for others, some good trade swag if they are into that, and willingness to carry a small plastic bag to do a little CITO and keep a cache site attractive are some of the big “atta-boys” that are worthy of mention. It is a game filled with opportunity to improve the fun for those who follow us almost every day we cache.
05/09/2009 at 12:26 pm #1907395Cache owners who label what cache it is on the log sheet and/or their nickname
Okay, I will come clean. I never said I was praising myself or my approach 🙂 I may forget to do this on occasion.. that’s why I say praise to those who cleanup after bad cache owners and add this to the logsheets! 😉

Well said.
On the Left Side of the Road...05/10/2009 at 3:16 pm #1907397I would like to priase those puzzle hiders that include Geochecker on their cache pages. It’s great to know whether or not all the work was correct…and the thrill of seeing “Correct” is priceless. 😀
03/08/2010 at 11:56 pm #1907398Probably said some of this already, but…
Cache owners who put thoughtful hides into great places….
Cachers who complete cache rescue missions to help on maintenance requests….
Puzzle cache owners who are always willing to extend a hand to help, even knowing that the hand that is extended back might be held with a raised middle finger or closed fist….
Cache owners who endure with aplomb streams of NM or SBA logs on their caches that are posted for dubious, petty, or vindictive reasons….
Cachers who take the time to post lots of pictures to their logs….
Cachers who take the time to write expressive logs….then post a note to the cache afterward to let us know they’ve added even more….
People who don’t give up….
Thanks.
