Dave showed up at the meet and greet yesterday, with 999. Today, the whole family is heading towards Mountain to do a S|S cache for the big number.
Congratulations, and welcome to a very crowded Club!
10/07/2007 at 1:28 pm #1879764Heres to hoping that “special cache” is not muggled or even worse eludes you 🙂 Enjoy your milestone outing Dave. And congratulations. I will probably find my 1000th sometime in 2011.
After today all bets are off again for you Fox Valley ftf chasers…

10/08/2007 at 12:31 pm #1879771Congratulatios Sagusu. 1000 is quite an accomplishment. It was a pleasure to finally get to meet you this weekend.
10/08/2007 at 6:35 pm #1879772“Walking On Velvet Green” was everything we hoped for in a milestone memory. It was indeed a magical spot, and yes, -cheeto-, we managed to make it a little work if you read the log. We celebrated with a trek to the top of a nearby high rock ridge, the site of an old fire tower, to do another cache for an encore, going from a lush spring-fed mossy valley to the top of the world for a spectacular view of the nearby terrain. It was as invigorating in the warm wind on that high ground as it was soothing in the serene surroundings at Velvet Green. The day was sprinkled with other caches along clear water streams, sightings of grouse in the woods, hawks and turkey vultures soaring overhead at the fire tower summit, and an owl silently passing overhead in the dark as we approached “Spirit Rock” in the Menominee Nation en route home. It was truly a memorable day! Thanks to all of you for the warm well wishes.
