Good Luck! We were pretty exhausted afterwards and didn’t get many others in that day — although there are several nice ones in the area.

05/18/2006 at 2:45 am #1750700Does anyone else sense this rapidly turning into a whole weekend event? We’re thinking about camping somewhere in the area, rather then making the trip back home afterwards. The 22nd works perfectly for us.
Can any of you who have already done the cache give us any tips on how we should prepare? My poor husband is quaking in his hiking boots!

05/18/2006 at 2:53 am #1750701but theres nothing wrong with it turning into a whole weekend thing! and the more the merrier!
)05/18/2006 at 3:07 am #1750702I guess I’d just re-read the logs from others and determine for yourselves what you can bring along. Be prepared for anything. The way that Otter set this up is what makes this cache a true challenge. The terrain will present different challenges to cachers. A wise choice would be to divvy up some of the specialized equipment amongst the group so its available, but not everyone has to have thier own… ropes, inflatable rafts, machette (will come in handy with the thorn bushes in full force, carefull though!), etc.
There’s no real secret here, just do the boy scout thing and Be Prepared!

05/18/2006 at 12:53 pm #1750704I have room around my campfire for 10 or so tents.. also if any wish to bring campers I’m on a road that would allow you to park alongside the roadway without causing any troubles.. Also my garage is big enough to hold us all if the weather turns ugly. My bf Bill cut down a few trees here too so that there’s enough wood for the campfire.. McD’s is a few miles away as well as stores etc.. bathroom is here (there’s also a laundrymat in town for those that want showers) and all that’s needed is to put up with me/Bill around the campfire (grins) and listening to my constant chatter.. I LOVE company.. so don’t even think that I’d be put out.. so feel free to camp Fri-Sat nites and use this as ‘home-base’ while you geocache in the area for the weekend..
After this last weekend of reroofing my roof over Mother’s Day weekend.. the few neighbors I have thinks I’m crazy doing it in the rain.. 20% chance of rain turned into more like 80-90%.. but it was a blast doing it with my family and made alot of memories…
I’m sure we’ll make some cool memories on the weekend of July 22nd (smiles)

~The Lil OtterThis may be a good way to get people off to an early start on the cache as it looks like it’s going to be an all day affair…Personally the earlier we get started in the morning the better!
05/18/2006 at 2:54 pm #1750706Nope — the 22 doesn’t work out for me. Have fun everybody. I think I may be attempting this one in the next few weeks.
