We love the Kickapoo Valley and can’t wait to do all those caches in through there. We missed out on the wintertime hikes, and I’m guessing it will be a few more weeks before we do any of them.

I had a storytelling gig last night in LaFarge and I got there way early, so I went up to check out the Visitors Center and see what birds might be around. All dressed up for a performance, I simply stepped off the parking area onto a little trail

and got sucked in over the tops of my feet! This is on a ridgetop, too, not down in the valley!

Thank goodness most of my audience showed up wearing things like their Wellingtons. Come to think of it, if I’d had *my* Wellingtons, I wouldn’t have trashed my shoes!

The junction of highway 33 and 131 was kind of scary looking last night. It didn’t look so much like the Kickapoo River as the Kickapoo Lake. Hope anyone down that way stayed dry!

Went caching in Rochester last weekend. I too found this new river flowing down the middle of a trail. Funny, there wasn’t a river there before. I’m known for wearing shorts when I cache when it isn’t necessarily a good idea to be wearing them (ie too cold, nettles, etc). Made for a chilly day.

I encountered more then my fair share of Seasonal flowage Yesterday as well. Thankfully I wasn’t caching in my penny loafers. 😆

March is my least favorite month for precisely this reason. That and my birthday. 😡

Edit: I just noticed that this is my 666th post AND my current find count is also 666.

I’ll try to keep that in mind.

So, that explains the horns, and the evil vortex swirling around? Good to know.

Think of each year as another smiley in your stats. After all, the alternative is a DNF.

        LOL! You guys!!!

Thanks for giving me a laugh.

I’m afraid we hijacked the thread a bit here. Anyone else want to complain about early spring squishiness?

March is my favorite month of the year. Not only is my birthday in March, but it’s a transition into spring, plus March Madness with all those basketball tournaments. As for mud…it dries up after a while…I think.

Hey, mud and water beat ice and snow anytime in my book. (Although last Sunday’s hiking through hip deep snow drifts in a tee shirt and jeans was pretty interesting!)

Nope, I’ll take the ice and snow any day. ANY day. Cross country skiier and all.

As for birthdays—who needs ’em? 😯

          #1871394

I didn’t say I ‘needed’ birthdays..I just like them. They just come each year, but what the heck..it sure beats the alternative.
