We are saddened to report the sudden death yesterday morning of recently retired Roche-A-Cri and Buckhorn parks manager Joe Stecker-Kochanski. It was only a year ago that we were celebrating his years of working for the DNR at his retirement party, and he was still active in activities and the Friends groups at the two parks.
While he was not the original person who allowed geocaches in the state parks when asked by The Lil Otter, he was the one we worked closely with for all of our RAC caches. So if you are doing the caches in Roche-A-Cri SP, especially those by us and by baconsbaits, think of Joe and his support of geocaching.
Thanks for sharing. So sad that he just retired. Will definitely remember him when we get over that way again.

I think we met him at one of your events, Pat. So sorry to hear he has passed.
