The Polls Are Open!

The WGA is accepting votes for the 2013 Board of Directors Election through February 10, 2013 at 12:00am CST. There are 4 open positions on the Board that will be filled in this election.

All WGA members can vote for up to 4 of the candidates that appear on the ballot. (These candidates received 2 nominations from fellow WGA members.)

A link is provided to each candidate’s profile on the WGA website… click on the profile icon to the right of their username to view it. We have also provided a link to the posts that the candidates have made in the Candidates Corner forum, and we encourage members to read these posts to learn more about the candidates before casting their votes.

At the conclusion of voting on February 10, 2013 at 12:00am CST, the votes will be tallied and the 4 candidates with the highest vote totals will be awarded the open positions on the Board. In the event of a tie, a run-off election will be held soon after voting ends.

Please note that the closing of nominations and the opening of the voting does not mean that you cannot still ask questions of the candidates.

There may be some out there that are on the fence between a couple of candidates and a little more information from them may tilt you one way or the other.

Questions can be posted throughout the voting.

I believe I have my mind made up. However, I am very disappointed by the responses , or lack of responses, from candidates regarding questions that were posed in the forum. Hopefully this isn’t indicative of the potential we can expect from our newly elected BOD.

I feel the same as Mathman, very disappointed with the responses this year to excellent questions. At least it was easy to eliminate some of the candidates who failed to respond. I do feel though that there are more than four qualified candidates worth considering. I usually vote as soon as it opens, but still have one undecided .

we have had several of the membership exercise their right to vote already. But contemplation is a good thing for some as, unlike the presidential election and most other political elections, we have some time to hear more from those who have accepted the nomination and are running for office as a Director for the WGA.

Realistically, the nominations have just closed and the slate set. While the questions have been out there for much of the nomination period, and several candidates have weighed in on these topics, there may have been those candidates who have waited until the nomination period closed to weigh in.

I cannot speak for any of the candidates but only suppose why the delay in response.
