Now that cachers’ profiles can be shown on the new website, check out your own profile to see your progress on finding caches in the WGA state parks series. This is not a contest or a race, but in addition to getting to explore some great places in Wisconsin when you find WGA SP caches, you will be working towards earning some WGA electronic art that will show up on your profile page.

Some of you may have already earned a badge or two by completing the whole set of caches in each biome, while others (like us) are just waiting for the opportunity (and maybe spring) to complete a set or to enjoy visiting another Wisconsin state park.

There are plenty of activities in the parks during the winter months, too, so you don’t have to wait until the spring and good weather to explore these properties. Don’t have a parks sticker? The 2015 sticker should now be on sale and will be good from now until December 31, 2015, for entry to ALL Wisconsin sate parks. Stickers make great gifts, too.

I clicked on the WGA State Park Series in the WGA Models. I get a long list and every one asks me to get authorization. When I click on one I found, it says I am authorized. When I click on one I didn’t find, it says I am authorized. And also, where is our profile now? I don’t see it under membership account, which seemed to me the most likely place to look for it, nor can I find it elsewhere. Thanks.

As far as I can tell, you can add stuff to your profile in your account settings (like where you’re from, your interests…). To see my own profile, I just click on my name or avatar somewhere in the forums. I just now clicked on yours, Debby, and I can see your profile.

Until people check in with the new website for the first time, and set up their new password, their profiles say something like we can’t find anything for that. Not sure if it’s The Cat or The Squirrel or the WA Jeep that is getting the profiles accessible, but it is getting done as people show up here.

Try clicking on some avatars or names from current forum posts. I know that T&B and LN each have a WGA SP badge showing on their profiles, if you want to see how that will look. Beccaday has some other information she added to personalize her profile.

I’m too lazy to speed much time on this right now. Adding to it should be pretty cool.

Click on MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT. It’s not a sub-menu item.
I’ll check out the biomes listing weirdness, but in the meantime, try to re-authorize with GC HERE.

Thank you for the post Pat, I look forward to the art on my profile! I doubt there’s any that I’ve finished yet, I’d better check.

Thanks Pat and Brian. I was able to find my profile and how to add to it. I knew I hadn’t completed any portion of the WGA Series, but it is fun to see how many I have yet to do in each of the biomes.

I’ve only found 2 caches in the entire series.

    I don’t get out much 😉

…but it is fun to see how many I have yet to do in each of the biomes.

That’s the idea of the series: do as many or as few as you want. Complete everything in one or two biomes that won’t take you too far from home, or travel all over the state to see what is out there. Set yourself a goal of finding those last one or two WGA caches in a certain region to earn some electronic art, or try to get a sampling in all of the regions. See where your travels take you, then see what state parks are nearby. Learn something about the different parts of the state. Explore and enjoy Wisconsin’s state parks!

Side note: We just picked up our 2015 SP stickers today at the DNR service center in Wisconsin Rapids. Check for the counter hours of a center near you, or stop in the office of any nearby state park when they are open to pick up your year-long passport to fun. ($25 for the whole year to all the state parks, $12.50 for a second car registered at the same home address. $10 for 65-years or older.)

I laugh when I see our progress. Other than the lakeshore biome, we have several that require “just one more” for another little bit of art. Looks like if we want them all, we’ll have to eventually log the two we trailboss. Winter in the state parks is fun. Less crowds. You might have to hike farther in some cases, but we like that, too. We’re hoping to get to Willow River for the first time in the next few weeks. I understand there are nice snowshoe and xc ski trails to enjoy there!

I love the artwork and what it adds to the profile. It appears the Lake Superior – Northwoods badge doesn’t load right in the profile or when you click on it from the biomes page.

We found Willow River last winter when the temp was nicely below zero. Wowza! That waterfall was chilly! Some kids were taking sleds down that big hill! Looked dangerous but fun.

I was waiting for you to make your way to the new website, Rick! 😀 Looks like that overall completion badge needs to make its way to your profile in addition to the Northwoods one.

And although you have found all the WGA SP caches, I know you won’t be taking the winter off. Enjoy your time outdoors!

Lake Superior – Northwoods artwork fixed. Tripped up by a dash…
Was there supposed to be an overall badge?

It’s the one that is now on the home page post about the WGA SP series… the reddish one with the WGA and DNR logos on it.
