The WGA has been asked by Cabela’s to host an informational booth at their Grand Opening weekend for their new store in Green Bay.

We are looking for are any WGA members that would be interested in stopping by for an hour or two (or more if interested) to hang out with us and talk about geocaching and the WGA to those that stop by.

Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th.
    11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

    Cabela’s Green Bay
Lombardi Avenue next to Hwy 41
Booth should be in the parking lot by the Boat Shop

Stop by and visit or offer up some volunteer time. BOD members will be manning the booth and the more that show up in their WGA gear, the better off it will be.

Besides the WGA booth, there will be 17-18 different groups involved with the outside events that weekend. From Ducks Unlimited to the Wisconsin DNR, vendor trailers like Remington & Beretta, and a fire truck from the Village of Ashwaubenon there will be lots to see and do and that is just in the parking lot.

We anticipate very large crowds so please reply to this post or message a BOD member with your questions and Volunteer times.

    See you then!

Still waiting to hear on tentative plans, but if I am available, I would be able to help some of the time.

      What help do you need?

Debbie, like other informational exhibits we done before, we’ll have a booth and need people to be available to share about geocaching and the WGA. This is the kind of event that everyone could help out a little. No real specialized training.

Anyone volunteering wouldn’t get stuck there by themselves.

More than likely there will be examples of caches, maybe some trackables, possibly the GC.com video running and other such fun stuff. We are working on the little things. With potential visitors being in the hundreds, any ideas you’d like to share would be greatly appreciated.

Doubtful that we could place temp caches as there are so many people expected to be in the area, it may just not be feasible.

Sounds like the Bubolz booth, only with the potential for a lot more passersby!

Just don’t expect me to demonstrate the technology! 😳

But to that end, if you had a way to have a laptop open to GC.com, to show a cache page, then show someone how to load the cache (either by download or by entering coordinates), how to search by zip code, etc., that might be a demo option. Those of you with the better GPSr models might help Cabelas make some sales  I know I would be more likely to purchase if someone were demonstrating its use on a one-to-one basis, especially with no vested interest in the sale.

Try contacting Frizz and KS9WI, they are in town and usually always willing to help just don’t know how active they are on here anymore.

I’ll be at scout camp so I’m out.

Vacation request for July 27th turned in today. I’ll know Monday if it is approved. It should be as I don’t think any of my crew requested off that day.

            #1970781

            I’m in for the 27th.

Thanks for the offer Todd. Got you down. Stay as long as you’d like.
